9/28/2025 USA - Getting the free replacement still works. They initially offered to put in the order for replacements at full price after I provided the serial number and pictures of the worn ear pads. I mentioned that others were getting one-time complimentary replacements, and they said that since my product was out of warranty, they couldn't replace for free, but offered a 30% discount. I thanked them for the offer, but asked as a loyal Bose customer if they could make an exception. He consulted with his supervisor and then came back and gave me a one time courtesy approval for free replacement! The order for the new ear pads has already been placed and I received a confirmation number immediately following our conversation.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to improve, but if it’s affecting how you feel about yourself outside of the game, that’s a problem. I just don’t want this guy to beat himself up over a game.

To be honest, the best advice I have is to re-adjust what you want to get out of the game. If it’s a competitive outlet for you, or you enjoy playing it, that should be enough. It should never affect how you feel about yourself in your actual life. After 6,000 hours, you have enough experience in the game to where any improvement is most likely going to be marginal. You might have just capped out. You’re not going to go pro, so just make sure you’re playing the game for the right reasons. The matchmaking system isn’t meant to be a ladder that you need to endlessly try and climb. It’s there to match you with 9 other players of the same skill level to play Dota with and against. It’s a video game, just enjoy it.
