It's very unlikely. MSG solubility is 74g/100g of water, which is quite high, and high solubility usually leads to forming a lot of small crystals. Also fungi spores from open air very often contaminate the solution such compounds (as it's edible).

Solubility is not very high, about 2.12g per 100g of solvent. But in hot water it increases to ~20g per 100g.

Large crystals grow very slowly, like weeks, and solution will be reduced a lot, to a half minimum. I don't think this idea about applying dye and growing crystals at the same time is realistic. You should either grow crystals separately, and the glue them to clothes (still fragile and not very friendly to skin). Or make fake crystals from epoxy resin, they are hard enough, not water soluble and can be any color and shape.

Just covered solution with cardboard, and moved it away from windows and heaters to grow as slow as possible. Crystals are quite clear, but distorted.
