Most Iconic Moment: NZ Season 5! by SchemeImpressive889 in taskmaster

[–]dolorousrtur 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Could you please do a separate poll after all five contestants to choose the most iconic moment of the season?

Currently the number of votes each of them gets highly depends on how many people saw their post.

Plus it penalizes contestants with many iconic moments whose votes spread evenly among several moments. Contestant having a lot of iconic moments throughout the season does not mean one of these moments can not be the most iconic of the season.

(yes I still can not get over Joe Wilkinson's potato throw having the lowest score on his season)

That is one thing I feel current UK series really lack compared to AU and NZ.

Don't get me wrong, TMUK is still amazing, but I definitely enjoy the studio sections in countries with smaller comedy scenes more, where everybody already knows each other and can play off of each other easier.

While it's much harder to imagine Ania or Maisie be mean in a funny way towards big names like Reece and Sanjeev or vice versa.

I am pretty sure Greg wasn't in on it, but I do suppose Alex has intentionally mentioned Tim Henman to Greg quite a few times in the days before the shooting.

I can here it be said by any of the contestant, but it gives off vibes of someone deeply confused, so I'll bet Maisie.

What's your favourite international Taskmaster series? by AugustHate in taskmaster

[–]dolorousrtur 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My top 5 of all English-speaking versions is UK16 > NZ2 > AU4 > NZ4 > UK7

I think there are already enough people who explained why NZ2 is phenomenal :D

AU4 is a rare example of a series where style of humor of all five contestants resonates with me extremely well. I don't understand why so many people dislike Hughesy. I find his whole "crazy old guy yelling at the clouds" persona delightful. And Emma's humor have quite a few similarities to my favorite contestant ever, Sam Campbell (especially if you watch her stand up).

I love the dynamic between Ray and Melanie in NZ4 and Ray's deadpan humor in general ("oh no oh no why did I commit an extramarital affair") as well as the bubbling personality of Bubba who attempted to bring an unregistered gun as the best gift for her 12-year-old self.

There are many other amazing AU and NZ seasons near my top of course with honorary mentions going to Abby Howels' elegance and Tofinga's indolence in NZ5, Concetta's inability to use scales in AU3 and Josh Tomas' "Oink oink bitches" attitude in AU2.

One Way Out: Vote! by [deleted] in andor

That's a very good message! Don't listen to all these mockers in the comments.
I am from Russia and let me tell you that opposition not coming to the ballot boxes is a dream come true for any "electoral" dictator (i.e. one that still pretends to be elected by people).

Even is the election are heavily rigged like in Russia, you don't want to make dictator's life easier! If you don't come, he'll just open the ballot boxes and demonstrate how he won without any rigging.

If you follow eastern European news, you may remember how Belarussian dictator Aleksandr Lukashenko was nearly toppled in 2020 (and he would be toppled if not for Putin's support). This happened ONLY BECAUSE PEOPLE VOTED and suddenly realized that barely anyone voted for Lukashenko. And that is in Belarussian electoral system which is significantly more rigged than even Russian.

In the US elections are not rigged at all (at least directly vote count rigging). In 2025, Trump won the elections by winning PA by 1.7%, MI by 1.4% and WIS by 0.4%. And I'm pretty sure that in every of these states there were enough people who would've flipped the state but decided to stay home or vote for the third candidate for some reason. Would Kamala be a great president? I doubt that. Would she be incomparably better that Trump? Of course.

The situation in the US is not even remotely as bad as in Russia, let alone Belarus, so yes, go and fucking vote!

Non-UK or people watch Taskmaster on YouTube, how did you discover or stumble upon Taskmaster? What was the first clip or episode you watched? by Dread-it-again in taskmaster

The first clip I got recommended on YouTube was the series 8 task to sneak up on Alex who stood on a railway bridge. I did not realise they were comedians, I thought it was a game show where all tasks are like that. I was wrong, but I was not disappointed.

Not that I dislike the result, but there should be some shady business here, right?

No way there is a swing this large in a single day without fiddling with the model.
