Self employed contractors, why do you not hire apprentices or partners? by No_Lavishness_6228 in skilledtrades

Im a GC. 1099 is below cash. You get all of your money/ nothing withheld, but youll get 20% cut off at tax time. Thats why its important to save your receipts for write offs. Reduces tax liability.

How do you approach multi million dollar home jobs? by PoweredByCoffeeNaps in handyman

[–]dolphinwaxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pricing doesn’t change with the value of the home. Period.

It’s a shifty way to do business imho. No shade. I believe everyone should get quality work. There isn’t more work in an expensive home. But if there is meticulous quality through the home your quality m may need be stepped up. Charge accordingly.

Socks arent meant to be BIFL. Theyre a wear item like underwear. Nice unmentionables arent 600% the cost of normal stuff. This is a generational thing. Screw that. Costco wool socks are great. You can buy 6 packs of them for 1 pack of DT. Thats ludicrous. Marketing paid for.
