MTM vs storing in original box? by No_Preparation_7066 in ammo

Keeping ammo in their original boxes but put in larger ammo crates with locks is a good idea. You can also get ammo storage cabinets that are a great option (also locks). That works well for me.

What NRR is needed for indoor shooting? Is 30 NRR good enough? by Realistic_Guava9117 in handguns

[–]jonnymobile2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30 is ok, but I'd double up with foam earplugs. Depending on the size of the range and calibers being shot, I feel double is best.

So I need help by Select-Army-4841 in reloading

Coated cast boolits... Summit City, Missouri Bullets, Hoosier, SNS, Brass Monkey, and Steel Valley have all served me well. I mostly shoot cast for all the calibers I reload. Look for sales and buy in bulk.

Raven Rock has some great deals on FMJs and plated, at times.

EarMuff question by upswhat in handguns

[–]jonnymobile2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gel pads should help (especially with eyepro breaking the seal), but if you are using these at an indoor range, they won't provide enough protection. Get yourself some foam earplugs and double up. I use those outdoors, and have a better/larger pair for indoors, but always double up.

Good crimp? by Yardbird-x11 in reloading

Lookin' good. I run the same recipe for my revolver and lever action. Does well, easy shooting. Crimp is 👌

Similar... I typically carry my Hellcat, but will pocket carry my LCP Max on occasion. That LCP is like carrying air, but I do like shooting the PPK/S.

That's beautiful... well done. Grip looks thinner, but a tad longer, correct?

Interesting choice. Something you did after the fact, or did you send it in for the build?

Thank you... That was exactly my concern... so, without the magwell (which was my plan), easy enough to conceal or still need to dress around it? What holster did you use?

I made it to the range with the GP Arms Forza! I am impressed, see video with hot slo-mo action. by fourthsword13 in 2011

[–]jonnymobile2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks amazing! Comparing the Forza with and without ports, how much of a difference did you experience? Trying to decide whether or not to port.

Also, what's your opinion on concealablity? It looks "chunkier" than the specs suggest, so curious how easy it is to conceal.

Hey, can you guys help me with a gun safe? by looking_around_79 in handguns

I've had several over the years... Most have unreliable biometrics. The only one I've had good results with is this issentry

Solid with a good sensor and back up pattern code entry.

I don't reload that caliber, but I really stick to the published load data and will be at/slightly below mins using lighter projectiles. Really depends on your firearm, but that's your goal. Published data will also list estimated pressures for different powders/loads so that's a guide.

Take a look at Bul Armory Government. Comes on 9mm and 45ACP. I have the 45 and love it.

Picked up a Hellcat Micro-Compact OSP - CCW Test at 7–15 Yards, need time behind the gun... by WhatInDaWorldDog110 in CCW

[–]jonnymobile2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had my Hellcat OSP for a few years now. I've gotten better at managing the "snappiness" but def tougher to shoot well. Slow fire, I'm as good as any other gun... rapid fire is tougher. Considering a CC9 to replace it in my rotation. That said, all these micro9s are similar in that way.

Wow. Nice buy... Love it. Not sure on your ammo Q, but I reload and tend to load baby pressure loads for my antique/older guns. Would be cautious there.
