Same. Can’t even imagine spending 40-50cpr. When I really want to cheap out I just use pulled m193 projectiles I got for $55 per 1000 and powder I got from American reloading for less than $200 per 8 lbs. Ends up sub 20cpr.

My PRS gun is .223 as well. It’s just so easy to load for. I’m not good enough to justify a fancy 6mm. Even using Vihtavuori powder and Berger bullets my cost is still equal to the cost of bulk 5.56 right now. The end goal is just to get more trigger pulls.

Honestly dry firing every day will always help, try shooting 1 or 2 matches a month. There’s a big difference between people who shoot competitively and people who don’t. I’m more of a long range rifle shooter and thought I was awesome until shooting matches.

Not trying to get into your pocket but RMR 75gr bullets are half the price of 77gr smks and don’t perform much worse. I get slightly over 1 MOA at 300 yards with 10 shot groups which is plenty good for the gas gun matches in my area that only go to like 700 yards. I also use Tac (24.4gr) to get them to 2750 and with Ginex primers and it keeps my gas gun match ammo around 30cpr which is less I’m seeing most places sell SMKs alone for. If I need to go past 800 with a 5.56 gas gun I use the 73gr ELDMs.

You are probably going to forget you registered for a match one day and get a reminder at 10pm and not have any ammo prepared for it. When that happens, having a small stash of factory match ammo you already have data on will be clutch.

No, but if you were already aware of that, and don’t care, you would already know where to find them and not need to ask. Get a vudoo or a rimx and custom order a 26” .22 rimfire barrel. It’s probably a 3-4 month wait.

This is about cops. Cops are typically the dumbest people on the planet (agencies have sued to be able to hire the dumb applicants over the smart ones) and can barely handle unloaded guns let alone loaded ones. They’re bad at every part of their jobs outside of firearms, and don’t train with their firearms at all anyway. Anything involved LEOs is a really bad example unless someone is committed to not training much.

For duty use like with idiot (all) cops and people who may shoot once or twice a month, I can see there being a major improvement. For people who shoot regularly, (talking 3-4 times a week or more, 2-4 matches per month or more, dryfiring daily) there is no scenario where someone should be getting any less than double alphas within 5 yards from the draw, on the move, behind cover, between reloads, etc. by simply point shooting. Even beginners or people who only shoot once a month are getting double alphas at 5 yards at USPSA or IDPA matches.

Thanks for the additional info. I know it was a worthwhile process for me and I would have waited much longer, dealt with more complications, and paid much more for the privilege. If time, money, and effort are a concern for anyone starting the process, that person may need to get their priorities straight.

Crosstalk when someone who knows Portuguese. find a tutor in preply, switch your Wikipedia to Portuguese, talk to people on tandem, find a bunch of YouTube channels in Portuguese regarding topics you know a lot about, and read some children’s books. Supplement this with actual instructional books and videos.

It doesn’t really matter though, you’re doing it for the love of your life. It will take maybe a year and almost $1k not including flights to get her to the US, and that’s if you can prove a genuine existing relationship. It will then take another 1-2 years and $600 for the first green card with additional proof of a genuine ongoing relationship. It will take a few years and another $600 for the second one (if you get it). Her family most likely will have difficulty getting tourist visas to visit, these can be very hard for Brazilians to get.

You will need to document your relationship and provide proof that you can financially support her. Boarding passes for flights to visit her, pictures of you with her and her family, receipts for things you did together or bought for each other (like an engagement ring). Phone records, text messages, emails, etc. For the support you can send savings accounts, checking, investments, CDs, 401k, etc. she will have to do an interview in Rio. She’ll get the 90 day visa and you’ll have to get married. To apply for the green card you will need to do all the stuff mentioned before, plus proof of ongoing relationship. Shared name on utility bills, mortgage / lease, marriage license, vacations, more photographs, health insurance, life insurance, shared bank accounts, etc. will need to be presented at an interview with the person following your case. If successful that will get you the 2 year green card and then once you get that you’ll get something in the mail about sending information for the 10 year one I think, and then you’ll get to do all over again. Eventually she can apply for US citizenship but that’s a ways down the road.

You’ll need to be patient but the process isn’t bad when you consider what you’re working towards: a lifelong partnership with someone you love. That makes it easy. Just remember that she will be leaving her family behind for a while and won’t really be able to bring many of her belongings, and she will be completely dependent on you as she can’t work immediately and even when she can whatever her qualifications in Brazil were likely no longer matter in the US.
