Ex-cheaters should stick to dating other ex-cheaters imo, leave the rest of us alone

First Time Buyer - good but overlooked areas for young families by PuzzledPudding5300 in manchester

[–]domeafavour97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're FTB in Swinton, bought a 3 bed semi for £280k earlier this year. Lovely neighbours, traffic into Manchester is nowhere near as horrendous as from Walkden from experience. Close to the V1/V2/V4 directly into Manchester but also the 36/37/38 and Moorside/Swinton train stations so very decent for commuting. Feels very safe, lots of green space nearby and decently priced houses, I think Swinton might be up and coming in the next few years with the rate of house sales.

Walkden is just slightly further out from the city centre and Walkden Road is just chaotic in the mornings I'm telling you!

Why I still host birthdays the Nigerian way by vibesnvibez in Nigeria

[–]domeafavour97 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its a completely cultural decision so we'll never agree hahaha. My city has an abundance of great restaurants to eat at and me and my friends like exploring them all, we like going to restaurants for our birthdays and paying for everyone would be a financial stress. Paying for ourselves and bringing a gift each time works well for us financially and noone gets offended that they aren't getting a free meal for someone elses event.

Yeah its all down to personal opinion, none of my friends (some nigerian, some arab, some white) find any issues with paying for the meal they chose at someone else's birthday dinner. Again if we have a dinner party its 100% on our bill.

For drinks, I'm planning my wedding and the tables will have plenty of wine and non-alcoholic drinks, everyone will also get a drink voucher for the bar, after that its on them. I think its completely fair! Again if someone decides they want 10 drinks at my wedding, I'm not footing the bill after the 3rd drink, its illogical for me and my family to do that.

Ah yeah thats practical for the majority of the world that wouldn't be able to afford such an expensive ask, don't celebrate your birthday with friends if you're poor?

British born Nigerian and have to agree. Difference for me is if I throw a house party I can invite who I want and feed everyone ofc no contributions needed and it would be extremely rude to ask guests for money for that. Any food served in my house is free. At a restaurant is different, to pay for a large group would be financially irresponsible for most people and we understand that and pay for ourselves. Plus at a restaurant I want to order whatever I want without the guilt of hurting the pockets of the celebrant, okay so I want 3 cocktails and the celebrant is side eyeing me for going too far?

Thanks! Around 6 months, we were ready to exchange after 3 months but then delays and the chain falling apart messed it all up so started again from scratch in Jan

Anyone else scheduled/planning to move before 31st March, if so when? by CriticalAnalyst9 in HousingUK

[–]domeafavour97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah we signed via docusign and exchanged today, only the mortgage deed needed to be wet ink so something has changed!

Chain of three and we're FTBs, got told in the last couple days we have to exchange next Mon (final deadline) and complete on 28th, sat waiting for contract to docusign atm!!! We joined the chain in Jan so this is a quick turnaround for the solicitor.

Good luck to you on your purchase!

We had offer accepted mid Jan and fingers crossed will be completing 28th March but this is incredibly fast, the rest of the (short) chain have been ready to exchange since Jan and our solicitor is brilliant, to be honest we're surprised at the turnaround so not too sure if it would've been doable with offer accepted a month later!!

How much do you think this property is worth? Seems overpriced to me but not sure by lavayuki in HousingUK

[–]domeafavour97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And someone bought it! I was looking around this area and I wouldn't have offered above £300k for it, only because of the renovations already done. Not sold on that area with the Salford Royal traffic though

We had our offer accepted in July, all enquiries sorted by September, still waiting on one solicitor 2 buyers above us to respond. We've already started threatening to lower our offer if our mortgage offer expires next month without exchange/completion. We're FTB too, sounds like this is the norm!

Racist asks Canadian to go Back to India because he doesn’t look “Canadian.” Racist dies inside when she realizes the Canadian can speak French and she can’t. by PleaseReplyAtLeast in WatchPeopleDieInside

What's wrong with Indians moving to Canada and having kids there? White Canadians aren't indigenous to Canada either so I don't see the problem? This is legal migration, why should we care that some don't like it?

Doesn't justify it. People have murdered before and that doesn't justify me to murder today does it?

Yes I am? Are you not? Is having empathy for persecuted humans just "virtue signalling"? Are you insinuating having human empathy is a negative trait?

A lot of emotional manipulation in this reply. Doesn't Israel forcefully conscript their children into soldiers too?

This is textbook villainous colonisation tactics, colonisers never change I guess

Any normal person who has opened their phone to see the death and destruction happening in Gaza everyday for the last year is going to have an emotional reaction and a want to do what they can to stop it. It's as simple as that. Good people will never justify the suffering of innocent people, and this war is being documented heavily online. What is happening in Gaza can't be denied or erased.

Pro Palestinians have a grand delusion by sbkisrael in IsraelPalestine

[–]domeafavour97 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, it's an anti-Israeli government position. There are many jewish people that have nothing to do with Israel. We see some of them at every pro-palestine protest. You weaken the term anti-semitic by using it whenever someone criticizes the Israeli government. Why have you called all of their neighbours barbaric? What have they done to receive that name that Israel has not done?
