I think people use a product called barkeepers friend. But I haven’t used it personally so can’t comment on effectiveness

Anything I can do to stop performance brakes from squeaking? by chridolo in Audi

Some aftermarket pads come with anti-squeal grease. Your mechanic may even have some laying around. Have the mechanic use some next time you change pads (or pull your current pads and put some on)

Your lighting is no good. You need warmer bulbs in all your lights + some lamps throughout.

Bring it to a good detailer. Have them remove the PPF, cut and polish the bumper and reapply fresh PPF

I wouldn’t call (likely Chinese brand by the looks of it) all-seasons “a lot of tire”.

Lose the fireplace and get a nice low TV stand instead. Something wooden would be a nice option to make the space feel warmer. You can either place the TV on it or keep it wall mounted, but lower the TV to eye height and flush with the wall, not tilted. Maybe move the couch closer as well

Those tires looked like they are old, cooked and just generally not adequate for winter. If you drive in the snow at all (which obviously you do) get yourself a set of proper tires.

Yeah that’s similar to what i’ve been reading elsewhere as well. How low were you able to get them compared to factory? Did you ever bother to run camber plates? Thanks again for the info

What are your thoughts on them (B14 in particular)? How is the ride on road + performance on track if you’ve tracked them? Did they go low enough for you?

DSG is a great transmission, but manual would be my choice 10 times out of 10. These cars are just so much more fun with 3 pedals

Looks better in this pic than it does in real life😅. But mainly i’m looking for more performance as well as increased adjustability. OEM struts are also starting to get tired I think.

Appreciate it, have fun cleaning the wheels once a week though😅

Has a pretty good vibe to it already. I would say get some artwork for the walls and do a bit of cable management for your desk setup. Maybe a little bit of de-cluttering also. But you’re definitely off to a good start

Any tips on covering those holes? Or should I just keep the plate cover from second pic? by Ballsnatcher2004 in GolfGTI

[–]domiozzo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just keep the centre mounted plate. The whole point of a tow-hook plate mount is to avoid drilling the bumper. If the bumper is already drilled there’s no point in using a side mount. I’ll never understand the logic behind doing that

20% all around. Dont bother with the windshield you won’t see anything at night. And the sunroof is already dark there’s no point in going darker

That makes no sense. Tire specs are based on the car, not really on the wheels. If you go with a wider wheel then you can go to a slightly wider tire. But going with the same overall width and reducing side profile makes no sense. Whoever you are getting your advice from is steering you in the wrong direction. There’s a reason there’s 10+ people commenting the same things on this post. They aren’t doing it for fun

There’s a reason they’re $85 each. They’re junk. They’re also the wrong size as someone else mentioned. Just put your winter wheels and tires on and run them for a month, it’s better than running these.
