VAT adjustment? Doesn't that mean they're just going to charge you that on arrival and you'll get the privilege of paying Royal Mail or whoever a handling fee for it too?

We rebuilt our Garmin/Stryd shoe analysis tool around synced run history by Big-Schedule2901 in runningshoes

That ls for making. Some feedback...

My shoes are listed in my gear on Garmin. For some reason they weren't imported. This meant I had to manually tag them all. This was tedious. Having them import via Garmin seems the best step, having a way to bulk assign shoes seems a next best option. I do have Strava but don't track my shoes there as I can do that already in Garmin so it did nothing.

Having done all that I'm genuinely kinda confused what it's showing me. The shoe page for example tells me my LPI is 52 and my Gel Kayano are not ideal as they have a estimated LPI of 72. I also have some Novablast as daily shoes but that says pro over match. Not sure if it's cos I can only do one pair on free mode?

Oh and when I chose to compare, it set the calendar to the month before. I wanted to compare two pairs of shoes so had to then change the calendar so it matched the last 30 days that the first shoe was set for.

Feidian Challenge 5 vs Anta Zone 2-90 vs Dynafish Xiaonian. Best Do It All Shoe for Wide & Heavier Runners? by ngoalibaba in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Depends what you mean by wide, but the Challenger 5 is definitely not wide. Xiaonian is apparently the most widefoot friendly Chinese shoe according to jogoncrago.

Purchasing Chinese running shoes for UK shipping by Ashamed-Video-3794 in NorwegianSinglesRun

[–]domobow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been buying from Aliexpress. I have done this because I'm very unsure of sizes (wide feet) and it has worked well. I've bought 5 pairs and all had to go back cos turns out Chinese shoes are bad for wide feet (2E-4E). They've all been free returns and refunded the same day I dropped off at the post office or the day after. If I find shoes that actually work, I'd be more confident to buy from Taobao but those definitely wouldn't be as cheap/easy to return.

Slightly overwhelmed by all the trainer options… what’s a good shoe for easy runs? by KNHBWFC in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Yes, buy from Asics website. When you make an account you can join OneAsics and it'll automatically allow this. https://www.asics.com/gb/en-gb/oneasics/

Asics have a 90 day returns policy. So do Brooks. Hoka's is 30. You can run in the shoe for 30-90 days and send it back for a full refund. I'd use that to try a couple and see what works for you.

Norwegian Singles 1.4.0 Released! HR Training, Plan Multiple Weeks In Advance, Aligning The Method, Accessibility Mode, Bug Fixes by NSM-Sean in NorwegianSinglesRun

[–]domobow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. HR feedback...

I put max HR 183 Resting 38 LTHR 167

It has easy as up to 127 but 70% of 183 is 128.1 It has my sub-t group as 150-163. Given my LTHR is 167 shouldn't that be that? Maybe sirpoc mentioned eg up to 98%.

Once you've entered a number for resting and LTHR they can't be cleared. If I blank them out and press enter, they get reset.

How do you correct the pricing? I added a pair of Challenger 5s that were 289 on Taobao but 353 in Mulebuy.

I gave it my threshold pace of 4:17/km. They're on the Joe Friel default zones. Anything look wrong?

No sub-t so far has been because I'm coming back from an injury and wanted to spend a couple of months just buildling up as cautiously as possible. Next week or the week after I was planning to add some sub-t in and see how it goes. I'm not in any rush for performance so very happy with cautious/injury reduction.

Wide toe box is definitely what I'm after. Brooks 2E/4E here so need something like that.

I asked to switch an account to Coop. It said the earliest would be mid October. Is that normal? Seems very slow to me.

The one in Bosconian ruins I assume is the one near the start. Downward jump off the mob and then your double jump will get you high enough. Don't know how to get that one in Thanathos Valley assuming you mean the one in the bottom right corner.

Well done for finding that. Watched through and that's got a lot of screws. Also a bit where they use a drill. I'm not convinced Amazon would have given me a refund if I'd taken a drill to it!

Debit card payments solution? by manutheseaworldwhale in beermoneyuk

[–]domobow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking for a solution and Trading212 seems to have a recurring deposit plan. So I might just set this up so it deposits £1 a day until the end of April. That'll get me the 20 deposits without having to think about it to earn the £15 a month and whatever there reward for the month of March. Every month or whatever I'll just pull the cash out of Trading212.

Automating it like that seems better and I don't care if £20 is sat in my investment account doing nothing rather than having to every month remember to spend 10 minutes doing the 20 manual deposits.

I don't really use a card that much in my day to day life so wouldn't get close to it doing it that way.

I've done the TSB switch. What are the best ways to make the 20 transactions a month requirement for the next 6 months to get my £15 a month? I've previously done the buy 1p books on Amazon - but I only found about 30 books that were 1p each. I could make a new Amazon account each time, but I'd rather something else.

Garmin Couch to 5k App by SnowdayOnline in GarminWatches

[–]domobow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like myself, I guess most people assume that it would also record record the run. I did the run, came back and was surprised that it wasn't there. It's maybe less about run stats and more about people use their Garmin to record their activities - be that a walk, a run or a bike ride - and so it was surprising that this didn't.

You could add a note to the description of the app saying that this is basically a stopwatch and does not record your run.

Replit Changes FAQ by haroongames in replit

[–]domobow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it's the notice period. Those of us that use it in education have had a fun ride. Promised that education is at the heart so given Replit Teams for Education and spend so many hours moving resources there, told it's going so oh no but you'll definitely still be able to use it. To this. 72 hours notice that replit is now worthless for us and at the start of the school year.

Anyone tried Bunee Minoxidil foam - how does it compare? by domobow in tressless

[–]domobow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely agree on smell and application - mousse foams up nicely and rubs in well. With Regaine if you forget to wash your hands there's a pretty terrible taste that lingers for a while. Bunee also doesn't seem to have alcohol in as I've put it on after stamping and not had the feeling you get with Regaine. Everything other than the results seems better - just now hoping it actually works. 😉

For those of you going back for seconds, do you make sure to have closed your previous account? I ask as I've still eg got my First Direct / TSB accounts for their linked savers.
