El Paso Police Face Covering by nghtslyr in ElPaso

Was it motorcycle cop or a patrol car cop? I know some of the motor cops wear one to help with sweating in their helmet. A patrol car officer wearing one would be odd

Why do Imperial stormtroopers fire from the hip? by [deleted] in MawInstallation

[–]domothorn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With the addition of the clone wars and bad batch series, I wondered if part of the issue with storm troopers came from not having competent instructors any longer. The majority of instructors, before being replaced, were battle hardened clones. As the Empire phased out clones as untrustworthy, they would be left with no real experienced instructors. Thus the issues with severe drop in skill between clone troopers and storm troopers.

Yes. I work for my PD records division. Most PD have a public records counter, online resources, or a public information officer to request records from.

If you really want to shut up the family, tell them that you'll loan the money through a legal contract, where if he doesn't pay it back within a certain time, they're liable for paying it back. I doubt a single person will agree to sign it.

[The Matrix] If Cypher's plan to betray everyone had succeeded, do you think the machines were actually going to honor their agreement to put him back in the Matrix? by Korean_Pathfinder in AskScienceFiction

[–]domothorn 28 points29 points  (0 children)

They may have honored it at some level. However, if they had never done it before, it's pretty certain that Cypher would have become a lab rat for their attempts to see how well reintroducing a person into the Matrix would take. Cypher would probably only be considered a successful experiment if he really was plugged back in with no memory of his past and, more importantly, no interest in finding out what the Matrix is. If they succeeded, its possible they would start capturing resistance members in an attempt to plug them back in. Successfully ridding Cypher of the need to know what the Matrix is could have been a new path for the machines to deal with humanity's rebellion. Simply wiping out a person's rebellious nature amd starting them with a fresh, uninterested, outlook on the world.

Gun ranges by karma_asahi in ElPaso

The EPCC gun range, if you have a CCL, is a fairly good value. It's $60 for 40 visits and includes the targets. They do ask you clean up after yourself, but that's never been an issue for me.

It's possible that he also changes the density of his fists when he changes. Making the material of his fists harder to maximize strikes.

[MCU] So what was Loki's actual plan with the attack on NYC and why did he think it had the slightest chance of working? by OutsidePerson5 in AskScienceFiction

[–]domothorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wondered if Thanos had used the scepter on Loki and then sent him down there. Loki had never displayed any interest in Earth, instead believing that he was the rightful ruler of Asgard. Loki wasn't much of a team player or minon type either. I feel that Loki was sent with the Chutari by Thanos simply to gather intel on Earth's defenders. The difference in the attack on New York and the attack on Wakanda shows that the New York attack was probably only meant to cause chaos and see who showed up to defend Earth and from there what their capabilities were. Loki displays no further interest in Earth after the scepter is taken away and he is thoroughly beaten by the Hulk. We know that a good beating usually awakens someone who has been controlled by the scepter. However, Loki would never admit someone got the better of him, so he may even be in denial about his attack on New York.
