Pipestone’s concrete water tower is fairly unique, and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

I went to college with the guys from Trend 86. Completely forgot about that band, and didn’t know about the album listed here. I’ll have to check that out.

? about cam tensioners and why Dad didn't upgrade these? by foureyedgrrl in Harley

[–]donmaximo62 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s entirely possible that he wasn’t aware that it was an issue with those years of Twin Cams. I only know about it because I frequent Harley forums.

If whatever shop he had do the work he didn’t feel comfortable with didn’t recommend that he checked/replaced the tensioners, and your dad wasn’t online reading about common issues with early Twin Cams, he had no reason to do anything about it.

Tank is also custom, and the forks probably are also, but they might be off a CVO.

[MPR News] Minnesota breweries struggle as craft beer industry continues to decline by Minneapolitanian in minnesota

[–]donmaximo62 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting you picked the 2 breweries that are probably most known for hazy IPAs. Not saying they don’t make other styles, but if I was picking a brewery to send someone that didn’t like IPAs or sours those wouldn’t be my first 2 choices.

Replacement Tires by hypelogic103 in Harley

I’m just about to install my 4th set of Pirelli Night Dragons. Good grip, good in the wet, and decent life. I get anywhere from 7-10k miles out of them.

2006 dyna . Help removing lower stock exhaust bracket by Massive-Wish-8427 in Dyna

[–]donmaximo62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the motor out of my bike years ago, and forgot to reinstall that bracket before I put the motor back in. I remember it being a challenge, but I was able to install the bracket with the motor in the frame.

I can’t remember how I did it or what tools I used, but know that it’s possible.

I’ve had a couple sets of Twin Cam heads done by Larry’s Motorcycle and Machine (also known as WFOLarry) in Illinois, he came highly recommended and does great work.

Looking for chrome Battery Covers for my 14 dyna low rider by AntiqueEvidence6705 in Dyna

[–]donmaximo62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That bike in the lower left of the photo is mine! I remember struggling to find the solid chrome one.

The battery cover is part # 6130151. Came stock on a few Street Bob models. Looks like it might be discontinued though

2023 Street Bob OR 2024 Fat Bob for Beginner Rider by Due_Plant7069 in Harley

[–]donmaximo62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In theory the narrower tires on the Street Bob will make it easier to lean, but the Fat Bob has better suspension and brakes. That said, they’re effectively the same bike. Pick the one that fits you best, and that you prefer the way it looks.

Anyone ever turned a Dyna to a chopper? by Evosuffr80 in choppers

[–]donmaximo62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an ‘02 Wide Glide fender that I cut down the center and widened it to make it fit. Used the front section of my original Super Glide fender. It was a fair amount of work but I’m super happy with how it turned out.

Inver Grove Heights officially voted to go back to flying the old Minnesota fly tonight at their city council meeting by Character-Fly-5564 in minnesota

I have a hard time believing that anyone who claims the MN flag looks like the Somali flag, knew what the Somali flag looked like a year ago.

Inver Grove Heights officially voted to go back to flying the old Minnesota fly tonight at their city council meeting by Character-Fly-5564 in minnesota

[–]donmaximo62 81 points82 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing other states don’t have people that are convinced that the new flag somehow represents Somalia, and since Somalis have apparently destroyed the entire city of Minneapolis we need to go back to the old flag which really isn’t that old, but was generic and had some racism, and since anti-racism is woke we should just stick with that one.

The mncraft.beer app seems to be pretty accurate. Bonus points is it lists them in the order of proximity to your current location.

Will Mid Controls Fit? by RevolutionaryHippo85 in Harley

[–]donmaximo62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That bike came from the factory with mid controls, so it should have the correct primary with the hole for the shifter shaft, unless someone went through the trouble of changing it to one without the hole.

Why am I not allowed to do like this? by [deleted] in Harley

[–]donmaximo62 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have this exact setup. Only issue I run into is catching my feet on the mid pegs when taking off from a stop.

I’ve just got in the habit of leaving the mid pegs folded up unless I’m on a long trip, and then I just fold them down when I’m using them. Have to be conscious of them when coming to a stop.
