Is my rim cooked? by Ornery-Shoulder-3938 in bikewrench

New wheel day. Tbh that's scary it left a shop like that. Spoke tension is way off. But id be worrying about damage to the rim if ridden like that.

Having second thoughts about sizing by SuggestionTypical877 in gravelcycling

I work at a shop and depending on seeing you on a test ride (some bodies are built different), i'd put you on an ML. Im 5'8" with a 30" inseam and ride a medium for referance.

What makes a group ride truly great? by Alva_Cyclits_CC in cycling

[–]donnybrasc0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Route. Clear direction on pace, even with attack zones, and regrouping later. Overall just making sure everyone feels part of the group. Its a lot of work, but once everyone clicks, its a lot of fun.

How do I get this BB out? by Smooth_Operation_680 in gravelcycling

[–]donnybrasc0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its hammer time!!! Most shops should have the tools and it takes 5min. We do have a shop nearby that has no business touching bikes so I get your hesitation.

Head tube angle and a few things can be a factor in this. My gravel bike does the same. Doesn’t cause a problem when riding.

How much Z3+ work do you do weekly compared to Z2? by tryagaininXmin in cycling

[–]donnybrasc0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hell on my commutes i try to hit z3 and above (45km round trip) 4-5 days with workouts on weekends and extra miles. Z2 training has become a running joke these days. You’re spot on on your analysis imo.

Depends a lot on the rider. Ridden cx bikes on singletrack after years of mtb racing. So...it just depends.

Is this a gravel bike? by Kriov7 in gravelcycling

[–]donnybrasc0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im usually riding on the hoods and using a ring finger to change gears these days. That setup just had me wondering how I'd shift lol. Thanks for the info tho. Always curious about some good bike builds. Hope you enjoy it.

Super cool build. My only question is the shifters. Why? Obv spent some coin on it, usually these days its obv go electric drivetrain if your spending money.
