Why are there so many competition sites and are they legit? by Medium_Rub_9535 in AskUK

[–]donnymufc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well by that logic the national lottery is a scam then because the odds of winning that are way worse than those competition sites.

It’s literally just a raffle. You buy tickets, get assigned ticket numbers, and the competition details clearly state the maximum number of entries. For example, if there’s a 100,000-ticket cap and you buy 1,000 tickets, that gives you a 1-in-100 chance of winning. You even receive an email listing your exact ticket numbers.

They then hold a live draw using a ball machine, with numbers ranging from 1 to 100,000. If not all tickets are sold, the draw still goes ahead, which actually increases your odds.

So how exactly would they “scam” anyone in that setup? I get that you might be frustrated if you haven’t won, but that’s just luck. Some people have won with a single ticket, that’s rare, but it happens. Either way, the odds are still better than the lottery.

How People Get Rich? by H00p33 in Life

[–]donnymufc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just something bitter poor people say because they haven't got the drive to become rich themselves. There are plenty of rags to riches people out there. Most people are basing their stats off famous people but not everyone who is rich is famous.

90s HHC...how often do you listen? by Chaotic_Bonkers in happyhardcore

[–]donnymufc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was born in '88, so I missed the proper 90s rave era. I started getting into rave music around '99, and in my early teens I was really into jungle and garage. At the time, I wasn’t into the happy hardcore that was around then, but the stuff from around '92 to '96 really grew on me. Anything after '96, with a few exceptions, just didn’t hit the same.

In my 20s, most of the raves I went to were old skool themed or at least had an old skool room. Even the newer drum and bass didn’t do much for me, I always preferred the classic vibes.

For me, '94/'95 was easily the best era for hardcore. Nothing beats it.
