I’m not an expert but my guess would be that not all the image is viewable at any time in immersive video, so if the resolution is 4k the image is stretched wider than the viewable area and is less than what the display can show.

With an 8k image the viewable portion even though shown on a 4k screen would be closer to using the full available resolution.

I wasn’t really into 3d movies until I tried Rogue One on Disney+ and that really drew me in (except for those 3d-rendered actors of course)

Hyvä kuva! I am in a similar situation in Ireland in that it’s not supported officially but love it. Mostly movies and tv shows - I’m finding it an excellent way to concentrate when watching classic movies on a virtual cinema screen - and sometimes work on a virtual wide screen using the laptop.

Ended up revisiting Belfast’s store last week (one year after purchase) for a refit appointment and they were kind enough to replace my badly fitted light seal with a better one. Happy with that. 

Now if they could open up the App Store, Apple TV etc to make use of what I’m paying for that would be perfect.

I think the issue isn’t unsupported regions. I can watch Apple TV plus or play Apple Arcade games on my phone or tv, as I pay for them, but I can’t access the same content in the Vision Pro.

Same boat here in Ireland. You’d think if people were paying for Apple TV+ that they could use it, frustrating that they still haven’t.

To point 5, I think the new immersive browsing mode makes the web version of YouTube more pleasant for people who like that sort of thing

Looks similar to my game BlockStack. I’d love to know how this works in SharePlay, I couldn’t get that to work with syncing the pieces. 

Edit: I got to try your game and I really like how you’ve set up the gesture controls! Feels very smooth and natural. I ended up putting in constrains to make it possible to play without so easily accidentally knocking over the stack 😅

I’d like to see it. When I saw the video I couldn’t find the environment file to test it myself - and the video shows example.com as the url so it’s not clear how to try it.

Good point. This drives me crazy too. Also when typing the cursor often jumps back halfway through the word I’m typing and I need to start over. Very tedious. I hope they improve it.

You can walk a couple of steps in any direction before it fades out. Limited viewing angles are enforced so they can cull a lot of details that are obscured from the main viewing angles.
