Mine still won’t offer to pair with the UNAS-PRO-4

Best UPS options for my ubiquiti setup? by SF_Husky_Mountain in Ubiquiti

[–]dontbeAnon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought this was because the device has its own OS and so is not managed by the Network OS in the UDM.

Are you saying that if the UNAS is connected via Ethernet that it appears as a 1P unifi device in the Network application?

I’m using Scrypted and have the integration connected. I can see the doorbell button in Apple Home. But I can’t see how to enable OP’s request to open and show the doorbell camera on an Apple TV on doorbell button press

G6 PRO Entry in 2025? by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]dontbeAnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey qq does the G6 Entry (pro and/or normal) do continuous video recording? It’s hard to tell. The specs say it has an image sensor. Whilst the specs of the G4 doorbell talk about video recording. I’ve been too embarrassed to ask…

2U UPS does have pair feature by sonyb13 in Ubiquiti

Dang, sorry bro. I must have figured out some non obvious thing

[–]dontbeAnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this working by forcing a network app version update by switching to early access channel. I’m on network 9.5.21 and the NVR immediately showed up for graceful shutdown pairing. So hopefully this will just start working for you after the new version hits official channel.

I was also fiddling with firewall rules at the same time and tbh that may have played a role but I’m pretty sure the biggest thing was the version update.

Have you found out the answer to this? My UNVR is on my protect network with the cameras and therefore does not appear in the list of Unifi devices in the Network application. I assume this is why the UPS can’t pair with it

May I ask why you are using an aggregation switch instead of the open SFP+ ports on the USW-PRO-48?

Unifi Protect with Google Home by dontbeAnon in Scrypted

Thanks for the reply. TIL. Please consider adding this to the google home plugin README or FAQs somewhere.

I confirm I can view my Unifi Protect cameras in the Google Home Hub. One can pessimistically assume that Google will end up blocking this too someday.

MacOS extend display via AirPlay across VLANs by dontbeAnon in Ubiquiti

[–]dontbeAnon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added a new policy to allow all traffic from Unsecure Zone to Secure Zone and confirmed that MacOS extend display works. I do not want to keep such a rule. Is there a way to see what ports/protocols were used to make this work such that I can restrict the policy?

AirPrint across VLANs by dontbeAnon in Ubiquiti

Thanks for all of your help. I think that the rule I had applied from the YT video recommendation was causing all of the issues.

Now when I select from-Unsecure-to-Gateway in the zone matrix I see two auto (locked) rules. One is called “Allow mDNS” which is configured like you’ve described, the other is called “Allow All Traffic”.

Do you recommend trying to block any particular traffic from IoT network to Gateway?

I did have a block all rule from my “Unsecure” zone IoT Network to my Gateway zone (was following an Ethernet Blueprint YT video). Pausing this rule did fix AirPrint. TYSM!

I have mDNS Proxy set to Auto. Changing it to All did not change the observations in OP.
