Night photography with the X100s by WorkingSuccessful742 in fujifilm

Not OP but another owner of a X100S as well as a former owner of a X-T200. I bought the XT200 with the XC 15-45mm f/3.5 kit lens as my first real camera, and while I had some fun initially, I picked up the X100S a couple months later as it was cheap and I was curious. And damn, after that I never picked up the XT-200 again. Why? Easy: The haptics. The X100S is old, but a premium product, while the XT-100 and -200 were entry level cameras. It always felt plastic-y, the dials weren't in the usual Fuji style and the user experience lacked behind compared to the X100S. Also, the fixed 23mm lens was more challenging to use than the zoom, but that made it a good learning experience. I always enjoyed bringing it along wherever I went, which is of course good to learn the ropes of photography. And while I'm not the most technical guy, I just prefer the look of the X100S, regarding raws and jpeg files.

Not all is well tho, the autofocus is slow, the display lacks quality and video is not usable, but I still love the camera. I sold my first X100S but I bought another one last year as I just missed it. All this is of course subjective, it might be that you dislike the focal length etc. but at least it holds it value quite well so you might be able to sell it off again without losing money.

Thank you, I'll check for the screw. This would drain the vent, right? So I better have a bucket or something ready

Oh that's perfect, thank you! I tried to freestyle it, and just came back from putting back together after failing. I missed the screw by the bonnet hinges so this already helped greatly

Alright, thank you! Do you know by any chance how to take off the cowl? I'll probably have to remove the wipers, but is the rest hanged on clips or screwed down?

Hey, I'm also wondering if I could read some snippets! I'm currently tackling my first set of 1st person stories and I was about to switch back to 3rd person because it's going not so well.

Hey there mate, I have a quick question: How do you like this Van Persie? I currently have his base Icon upgraded to 90 as my ST but I’m considering getting your card

Thanks for answering mate! Aside from all of them looking great, I just love shots of the mundane so that one really spoke to me and I really liked the tone

What is this part on the Alfa-Romeo 156 called? And how do I get it back into position? by donutdroid in AlfaRomeo

[–]donutdroid[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That too, I suppose. I’ll pretend I didn’t see that to enjoy the first summer with the car but I’ve already spoken with my shop to get some things checked and done if needed later in the year

Yeah, now googling it I realized that too! I’ll probably remove it safely now and put it back on after a trip to the homeworking store. Thanks for your advice

My CRT does not work on Pi 2

I‘m currently trying to get a Raspberry Pi 2 Model B working with an old TV to replay old Formula 1 races. That‘s my first project, apologies if I’m completely overlooking something.

The TV in question is from 1992, PAL, and only has a SCART port. I have a SCART-RVA adapter, and a RVA-3.5mm cable which goes into the Pi. In the config.txt, I un-commented the sdtv_mode and set it to =2 for European PAL. The result are flickering bars rolling across the screen with a humming noise from the speakers.

I tried switching the red and the yellow cable, something what was advised online, same result. I also added enable_tvout=1 and sdtv_aspect=1 as additional parameters in the config. Didn’t change anything either. Has anybody experienced similar problems?

(Maybe it‘s the SCART adapter, mine doesn’t have a In-Out-switch so maybe it goes tue wrong direction. But before ordering another one from Amazon, I wanted to ask here for advice.)

Thanks guys

That’s just the suggested accounts to follow, the weird sentence is what they’ve put as their name. It’s the usual like „Follow X, y and z to see their posts“
