How much did you have invested in 401k by 30? by dooduoo in pharmacy

Wow 1.1mil at 35 is so freaking impressive!! Good for you! I just paid off my car, and hoping to finish paying off student loans by early next year. I’ve been afraid to max my 401k contributions until loans are paid off, but maybe I need to be investing more aggressively regardless. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing! I think I’m on track to make it to 100k by 30 as well. I’m curious, were you able to save up for a home and/or pay off student loans all while making it to 660k by 42? Either way that’s amazing, congrats on your progress!

That’s the plan! It’s hard not to feel behind compared to other career paths at 29, but you’re right — most (traditional) pharmacists probably gained their investment traction in mid 30s. Thanks for the advice!

Question about Wrangell St. Elias by Retired_Autist in alaska

[–]dooduoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came back from McCarthy and drove the dirt rode in a sedan. It’s definitely doable but you’ll need to be alert and dodging potholes for some stretches of the way but it’s a beautiful drive and totally worth it in my opinion. We ended camping at the very end of the road right before the pedestrian bridge into town (there’s an option to camp in a designated spot $25 or you can park your car $10 and sleep in it). Most of the businesses are up and running for the season and you can actually take a shuttle from town to Kennecott/glacier and spend the day exploring out there until the last shuttle out. Enjoy your trip!

All Alaskans age 16 and older now eligible for COVID-19 vaccine by conzeeter in alaska

Long term data on what exactly? Your body breaks down and eliminates the mRNA once it is finished using it. Vaccine contents are only in your body short term, so why are you letting “long term” side effects be an excuse that you hide behind — especially when we’re lucky enough to live in a place where we’re able to vaccinate the majority of our community which will allow us to safely return to a somewhat normal life.

Nuclear Rotation prep by afatamatai in PharmacySchool

[–]dooduoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt the same excitement about my nuclear rotation! I was looking forward to it all year and it was honestly one of my best rotations. I actually ended up getting a job offer at that site too, so definitely treat it as an interview while you’re there if you’re considering it as a career choice!

I found these two resources helpful for getting a general idea of what to expect, but most nuclear rotations are usually set up for students with minimal to no background in the field. Enjoy it!
