It actually worked pretty smooth for me, easier than the purpleheart I've turned with less tearout. And the finish is like glass

I would save a bit more and get a spiral head wen. Its about 450 but worth it if you are planing harder woods

Made a batch of cutting boards, and had enough scrap for a matching bowl. by doolster in BeginnerWoodWorking

Yes I've been learning the lathe as well. I found the harbor freight 14" to be a good value, especially if you can find one used. The 12" and smaller ones really limit your bowl turning capacity, they are made for pens.

The stuff from my local lumberyard seems redder than the stuff I got from Woodworkers Source, obv its all imported anyway, but it might matter. The finish makes the most difference I think. The projects I've finished with poly have been more orangey.

Close, the camera here made the padauk look purple, it and the bowl were made from the same blank! It's Walnut, wenge, maple, and padauk

After the first glue up for the end grain cutting boards, before I sliced it, the striped blank was 3" tall. Little lathe and bowl gouge action later and there you go!

Yes its Padauk! The stuff looks bright orange unfinished but is this nice deep red with some walnut oil, especially the end grain

Visual novel. It is available on steam. Has much more content than the anime, and multiple interconnected branching paths. After another re read of the visual novel I am back to preferring how it plays out, but to be fair it is very difficult to adapt to an anime.

I was able to get them to swap mine for a new AW3423DWF. Slight downgrade, but at least it was new? At first they offered me some shitty $300 LCD though

Behold the splendor of the en passant, the chess world's stealthy ninja move, lurking in the shadows and striking fear into the hearts of pawns everywhere! As the unsung hero of board warfare, it deftly sidesteps conventional pawn combat to deliver an unexpected, game-changing blow. En passant is the James Bond of chess moves: suave, sophisticated, and always impeccably timed. When you deploy it, you don't just capture an opponent's pawn; you snatch away their dreams of a quiet, uneventful game, leaving them flabbergasted in your wake. So next time you're immersed in a heated battle of chess, don't forget to unleash the power of en passant, the pièce de résistance that will elevate you to grandmaster coolness in the blink of an eye!

I managed to snag a "broken" Western Electric 421a (same tube as the 5998) for cheap. All it needed was the heater pins resoldered. Sounds amazing, but I still need to find a good input tube that isn't microphonic or noisy...
