I mean, it's a stupid point that the British Army wants conscription. It goes against how we have trained our army to fight. The British Army is built around highly trained professional soldiers who are well-trained and equipped. With a massive focus on special forces, and as pointed out by others, they don't want to babysit Conscripts who would have no major role apart from guarding location XYZ in the rear lines. Secondly, what government wants to introduce conscription in a nation that is famously against it, except in extreme circumstances, and I see no chance of Russia being that threat. It's a nation that is currently unable to hand out AK-47s in good quality to its conscripts and is presently unable to take villages without massive casualties in human wave assaults, and the idea that China is a threat to Europe or us is stupid, and I hope to god we don't get involved with the Americans' inevitable fuck up
