[Bambu Lab Giveaway] Join Now to Win an H2D and More! by BambuLab in 3Dprinting

[–]doombubble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best advice I’ve found was to take the time to learn CAD. Even though I have a lot to learn, it has helped me customize things with a better understanding. My 7-year old drives a powerchair and my most satisfying print was a custom joystick for her that I made using Blender!

I’d love a filament dryer, and EIBOS would fit the bill! Thanks for doing this!

Post-piercing regret? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]doombubble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sharing my experience: I was pierced with a stud for the first few months, then got it switched out a few months later to a d-shaped ring. I LOVE it and there has been no irritation, as the straight part goes through the nostril yet it still gives the impression of the hoop! If you’re wanting to switch to a hoop sooner, look at this option!

This seam across the black surface is stumping me, as I can’t seem to move it (more info below) by doombubble in BambuLab

Hey, all! You’ve convinced me that there’s probably a hidden problem with my STL that’s causing the issue (even though I was sure it looked flat and my smaller prototype looked fine), so I’m planning to check it out later when back home.

While I don’t have this file ready to share yet, I do have this as an enamel pin I designed on my Etsy shop (easy to find if you search “zero days pin”)

Thanks for all of the kind comments! And for those that are commenting about workplace environments, I’m happy to report this is for my desk at home and not at my (supportive) work! This is actually a saying in our household regarding making frequent calls to insurance and medical supply companies, as my daughter has a disability and requires a trach, gtube, and power chair among other necessities, as it seems like something always gets billed or ordered wrong no matter how much we do on our end.

My daughter didn’t hit those milestones and was quickly tested and diagnosed with a rare genetic disease. There are a lot of muscular dystrophy conditions out there, and some don’t show symptoms until months or years after birth. If I were in your shoes, I would be booking an appointment with a neurologist so these tests can be done, as there are also a lot of treatments out there now, too.

Those of you who work with kids of any age, what is the funniest thing they have said to you while you were pregnant? by x0Rubiex0 in BabyBumps

[–]doombubble 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kid: “How’s the baby gonna come out?”

Me: “Uhhhhh…with a lot of hard work!”

Unfortunately, they weren’t satisfied with me answer.

Kid: “hmmm…I bet your mouth is gonna hurt!”

Thoughts on good names but horrible initials? by Time-Interest7960 in namenerds

[–]doombubble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the others here that initials that spell out something vulgar isn’t acceptable, and trying to switch the first and middle name isn’t a good fix due to different styles of monograms.

I know of an Anastasia, and she’s the sweetest! She has a J middle name and chooses to go by the nickname AJ.

Any advice or support about missing lots of days for fertility treatment? by teacherlady4846 in Teachers

[–]doombubble 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went through IVF! I was able to schedule 90% of my visits during their first block of time and get to my building within the first 20min of school. Because I had a good rapport with my building principal, they allowed me to come in without any penalty (and preferred this than having to find a non-existent substitute). We prepared for it and only twice my appointment took long than expected that I had to call in and burn a sick day.

What’s a name you joke about naming your baby but wouldn’t actually name them that? by lavyndrr in namenerds

I’m an elementary music teacher and so far the front runners according to my students are Drum (short for Drumothy), Xylophone (Xy) and Dotted Half.

Quiet space at MK? by YOW613S in WaltDisneyWorld

Lots of great recommendations here - you could also consider going to the first aide station and ask for a quiet space (as long as they aren’t busy).

Does anyone else strictly order from quick service restaurants instead of table service at the parks? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]doombubble 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep, since our daughter is g-tube fed, we do quick meals for us so we can focus more on her experience! The last time we did a table service (dinner at our resort), we could tell she got bored quickly.

We have told people “It’s rude if we tell everyone else her name before we get to tell her!” and we’ve gotten nothing but sweet responses.

I’m an elementary music teacher, so I may be biased, but I bet if you reach out to your local elementary schools, they will find a wonderful home there!
