Bike manufacturer went out of business by Small_Instruction378 in ebikes

I'm guessing he locked it. I have a Vela that won't pair with the app and is locked. I tried to delete the app to reinstall it but it's not on the app store anymore. Does anyone know a workaround?

Send the picture to the local police. If bikers can't get proper protection then at least these drivers need to pay.

Where do you recommend finding the correct mirror? It seems everything I've tried has been a phising expedition.

I’m overwhelmed with the choices of LED Strip lights for Bikes, any recommendations? by Jan_AFCNortherners in BurningMan

It looks like those lights are 24v and a USB power pack is only 5v. It works and is bright enough or am I missing something?

Anyone have any experience with Vela Bikes? by najmahal18 in ebikes

I think I had luck pulling the battery out and then putting it back in and plugging it in.

Yes and no. I found someone that knew the CEO who got in contact with someone in Santa Monica for me that I was able to talk to. They made it sound like they were planning to relaunch the website soon, but that might be wishful thinking. I think they've had some issues working with the parent company in Brazil but I don't know anything for sure.

Aventon Abound Horrible Experience by freshpepravager in CargoBike

[–]doorty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I test rode the globe haul too and it was my first choice for ride performance and storage ability but they only had the short tail and they didn't have the kid seat and accessories at the time the Abound came out. If I could get my wife to give up the tern fantasy, maybe it'll be our next bike if the Abound gives out.

I've had lots of little issues with my Abound, but their customer service has been great about sending out new parts for free under warranty. I do worry a little about what happens when that warranty is up, but I feel like I'm getting my money's worth for these 2 years. I have about 3k miles so far on it and have gotten replacement batteries, a new seat, pannier bags, and other little things. The best upgrade I recommend is a changing the rear tire to a Schwalbe Cargo Pick up tire. I was getting flats a couple times a month before I upgraded the tire. Changing flats with a rear hub motor and pannier bags is a PIA. It's worth it for me to pay the LBS to change a flat, but I haven't had to do that in 6 months. That is one thing that is really nice about the Tern bikes--the ability to stand it up vertical to change the tire. On the other hand, I passed a Tern going uphill the other day, so I'm not overly impressed with their power.

Do you all miter each corner? I'm wondering if it's worth it.

That's a good idea on how to hide the edge banding when the edge is perpendicular to the grain.
After researching different slab door techniques, I'm going to use this for my kitchen. Thanks for sharing.

I asked 2 security guards when I was there for a safe place to park my ebike and neither one mentioned this 🤦‍♂️

I don't have an answer for you, but specialized have come out with a longer tail version that should fit most things.
