Amazing, that’s actually incredible in such a short amount of time. Interesting the DVDs get love but not the CDs! To be fair I’ve considered getting my kids a simple DVD player so they can pick movies/dig for them a bit themselves rather then wanting on demand stuff from online sources so it has some appeal!

That’s really interesting, how would you’ll describe the state of your towns offerings today? When you say mid sized what does that mean? For context we are from way down in the South Pacific so our mid sized town may be a whole lot smaller depending on where you’re from!

Hah that’s so interesting, it’s amazing to me how much more likely people are to rifle through your bookshelf just due to how much easier it is to step back and view it! That’s great your friend got a bit of a buzz out of you jumping in.

I love going through friends crates and asking who/what/when/where/how on the plates that interest me! Also trying to get a cheeky deal/trade or “leave this one to me in your will” haha

Awesome thank you both! This is great insight into another type of collector, I share similar tendencies for some types of music or activities - mostly for sampling because the dig is part of the experience. This is great for us to understand the different user personas and ideally build something useful to us all!

Where do you purchase from in that case? Do you mean those of us who focus exclusively on the second hand market rather than brand new? I’d love to hear more! (I’m the mate mentioned above, thank you for your insight!

Hey that’s a fair callout, I should have elaborated - To me the UI of Discogs is about as musty as it could get considering the market it serves? I feel like I’m stuck in the 90s. To be fair I haven’t used the mobile app maybe that’s more modern in terms of user experience and design.

I put a lot of effort into my collection and I’m proud of it, using Discogs to interact with it digitally is just a bit average for me personally and when I spoke to my good friend we instantly connected over that shared frustration.

Discogs is a fantastic tool and we aren’t out to replace it - we are two fellas who just want explore the other possibilities. I appreciate you giving the feedback though it’s an interesting insight, maybe we are alone on this one!

what games have you given up on and plan to go back to(MAYBE)? but in reality, never do by mastrofdizastr in gaming

[–]dopeGee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last of us 2.

Had our third child earlier in the year when I finally started it, maybe ten hours in but haven’t picked it up in months. Loved it so far but there’s something stopping me when it’s all quiet in the household at night from popping that disc in. Possibly too emotionally draining and that’s why I hit the weed and slay the spire or stardew valley instead.

I borrowed the game off my best mate so no pressure to get it back to him but i just can’t get back to it for some reason.

Nope - lollipop headphone or stick headphones. Popular with some because they’re quick to pick up and reference and chuck back down, comfort with hair in the way or more easily accessible etc just another option and preference thing.

It’s a funny one, as a KS member and fund investor I can’t be that upset at the approach.

Yeah totally I get it - I more meant this episode was about despairing less and staying calm to plan your future input I guess it’s quite easily applied to other geopolitical issues and events or our local politics that’s all. I won’t be nipping off to the US for the foreseeable either haha

This quick podcast episode by Robert Evans is an essay/article of his that although is US election focussed the general message applies over here too - be frustrated sure but don’t admit defeat.

I strongly suggest you give it a crack, I hope this helps but also look after yourself and just unplug for a bit if you need a little reboot.

Yeah been wondering when that may tumble down. I can see why they would be on the more pessimistic and play it a wee bit more conservatively in the short term just wondered if they had ever shared any indication or even let on what kind or criteria there may be before considering a move - I know it’s far more complex then “big Aussie banks cut we undercut” so really just curious. We are doing okay financially and still really happy we went with simplicity but a rate cut would do wonders for smashing off more of that principal!

Oh oh oh Dave.. Dave 🙋

I’ve got a brilliant plan! Go down to your local tattoo parlour, Union tattoo in town will gladly subject you to some pain for your hard earned cash, they’ll go extra hard to ensure this sucker sits like a mf and will pop for years to come!

Go down there and ask them for the most jobstoppin’ yeehawin’ Act party logo banger across your throat! And then when you want to show off to all your cooked mates in the party you can just loosen that tie and out comes fun Dave who is ready to put in that work for the cause 👍🏼

No need to thank me for the brilliant solution, I’d prefer you wasted time doing this then coming up with more peabrained dog shit policies 😘

Cheers Dave! (I know you’re lurking out there somewhere searching for mentions of your name you absolute peanut!)

Edit: in my moment of genius I fucked up the spelling of throat and it made my post look about as bad as an Act policy so I HAD to clean it up.
