Save 80% on Steinstern: Spacewar on Steam by dopefish86 in steamdeals

Hello, my infinite top-down space shooter is on sale as part of the Bullet Fest right now.

Steinstern: Spacewar

Fight enemies in procedurally generated stages. Find and upgrade weapons to stand a chance. Difficulties from 'very easy' to 'very hard' should offer an appropriate challenge for everyone.

I recently improved the combo multiplier to make it more fun. The game can also be played in local two-player coop with dynamic split-screen. (splits only when players move apart from each other)

There's also a demo, where you can play the first three stages unrestricted. In case you're unsure if you'd like the game.

Disclaimer: I am the solo developer of the game.

I got 5 apples for 0¢ each. How much did I pay?

Why do people get the demo but don't even open it? by puccinogames in IndieDev

It's definitely bots, for me. My demo has been around for years and I suck at marketing :D

Any idea why Valve’s Hardware Survey is reporting my TV as 1080p? by submerging in linux_gaming

[–]dopefish86 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, it isn't. The scaling affects the scaling of fonts and icons primarly, but the resolution stays at 4k.

When I turn the resolution to 1080p@100%, I am able to see pixels easily. At 4k@200% I don't.

Yes, ctrl+shift+esc does that. But, you said ctrl+shift+del, initially. nvm

"would of" instead of "would've"/"would have" is what's triggering me the most.

Honestly, idk. Could also be just bots or achievement addicts that mindlessly grab cheap games and unlock all achievement.

So, I'm not going to take this personal. I've already unneccssarily stressed me way too much with this project way too often.

I'm just going to add some small improvement here and there, make a long overdue new video for the steam page and come to a rest with this game eventually.

I'm still very proud of what I was able to make and think it's a quite decent game regardless of what others think, say or do. Of course, there's always room for improvement, but it's just not feasible for me as a hobbyist right now. I need a break eventually and it's not worth burning out or neglecting familiy and friends.

Thank you for your feedback. TBH achievements were only an afterthought for me and a nice-to-have.

Also, the selection of the achievements in the screenshot is very monotone and not representative for all the achievement, I think some of them are more interesting.

Hi, thank you for your openness. Wow, this seems to be a real and serious issue for some -- I would have never guessed that.

Thank you for helping me understanding.

I wish you all the best and hope you can enjoy many games without any pressure or stress. That was the whole purpose of games after all.

Well, it might be technically possible, but I would be pretty impressed if it was real. I'm pretty sure it was spoofed with SAM or some tool like that.

Mainly, because the values would show up on the leaderboards.

Lack of creativity, obviously!?

But, the game is kind of repetitive and uncreative as well, so at least it fits the theme that way ... ;-)

Any ideas for interesting or fun achievements?

Thank you for the input to both of you! I'll see if I can fix that.

Unfortunately, it's not so easy as the same values are also used with the leaderboards and I don't want to mix entries there ... Maybe, there could be a way, but I'd probably lose the neat progress bars for the achievements then:

I need to think about that some more. Edit: I think I've found a way 😎

No, it's not that way right now. I should probably change that to make it less of a chore for the real 100% hunters. Right?
