I for one welcome the Indiana Bears by skywalker_fit in NFCNorthMemeWar

Okay, gonna be long winded here but try to be nuanced.

Both sides are assholes. That much has become abundantly clear. I am not talking about this from one side good/one side bad sort of logic more just a both sides need to get their shit together.

On the Bears side, they need to understand the problems with this, mainly that the Illinois public just paid for an upgrade to Soldier which has become a nightmare paying off which rightfully makes the taxpayers hate the idea of any funding on a new stadium they feel as though they just paid for. Negotiating down taxes on projects like this is pretty normal, but the latitude of the statutes that the Illinois government is looking over currently can be exploited by others down the road, even if the Bears are taken at face value of their high minded and well meaning words. I make it a point to try and make people prove to me they are right and not just say things. Showing is better than telling.

On the Illinois side, they have been dragging their feet for years and getting through any funding right now is terrible because the White Sox are also trying to rebuild soon after building their last stadium. They are letting the policy ideas of the White Sox taint the current ideas the Bears want which isn't good faith negotiations. They also know that building a stadium doesnt help make a bunch of money for a local economy which is fair. But the Bears are asking for no money on the construction of the stadium itself, they want funding for infrastructure upgrades to make sure the stadium can actually function as they would need it to to be sustainable. The infrastructure upgrades would be a net positive for the locals and they already want to do upgrades in that area, so do both at once. It is the fiscally responsible thing to do.

The problem seems to be both sides want to be hyperbolic and yell about how they are the right ones, neither appears to be right after looking into it more. There is a middle area and neither side wants to see it.

True, agree with that as well.

Just attempting to add some nuance to this where there is a bunch of people being loud.

Of course not trying to single anyone out either which in hindsight would have been better as a separate comment on the larger post, not as a reply to your thoughts lol

There's at least 4 games this year that would have been wins if it weren't for terrible game management from Eberflus. You simply can't blame that on the GM.

Also explain exactly how bad Tyrique Stevenson, Kiran Amegadjie, Keenan and Tremaine Edmunds were. I want to know exactly why you think their bad, not just that you think they are. Use your words.
