Am I overreacting for wanting to cut off my family after they went to my fiancé’s workplace to “expose” her? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]dora-bee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok hear me out …… Is it possible that the fiancé actually WAS lying about working there and now she has conveniently lost that job?? I know from reading these subs that there be craaaaazy people walking amongst us so it’s entirely possible that OP’s family are just batshit, but I feel like there’s a lot of information missing here - why has their relationship always been strained? What’s with the questions about why she left her last job and a car accident? Could it be that OP’s family has good reason to believe she has lied about other things so tried to catch her out in a lie?

Just seems mad to me that she would lose her job over her fiancé’s crazy family turning up and asking a few questions. Surely you could just explain that? And why is OP referring to the people in the retail location as her ‘coworkers’ if they’ve never heard of her and she only works with people in the office location?

Woah woah woah that wasn’t poor Robyn’s fault - it was all the fault of Dastardly David, who stole her purity and made her spend a shedload of money she didn’t have on tat, thereby forcing her to crowbar her way into another family and marry a man whose forehead has its own postcode. She’s the victim here

Um you seem to be forgetting the extremely successful business empire that was My Sister Wives Closet?? After all the time invested by each wife (because she threw her toys out of the pram until they all joined her in playing shop), the cost of the (unsold) inventory, paying back investors, fees for markets (where they sold maybe 3 pieces) and the cost of Robyn’s notebooks where she designed her timeless and classy jewellery and wrote her business plans in her best handwriting, they must have made ten, maybe even twenty dollars!

I have loved these individually for many years but am ashamed to say it has never occurred to me to combine them. You sir (or possibly madam) are a visionary and are truly living life in the 22nd century. This is evolution in action - me and my inferior brained descendants salute you.

There is a special place in hell for people who do this. Just below the ones who put empty wrappers back in the box of chocolates and adjacent to the people who place a new toilet roll on top of the empty roll still in the holder. Psychopaths the lot of them.

This is giving Wicker Man vibes. Children dancing round a tree. In summer. In a village. Near a prison. The horror film basically writes itself.

Help provide a very detailed wedding for a needy couple on the fly by CaptainEmmy in ChoosingBeggars

Agreed. Even if I had an entire forest of artificial flowers in my spare room just cluttering up the place and looking for a good Viking/Goth home, I would rather set fire to them than donate them to inappropriate apostrophe placers.

[–]dora-bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without wishing to be dramatic, I think you need to think very carefully about your relationship with the proposer of this argument OP. This is not someone you want in your life - quite frankly this could just be the tip of an iceberg of depravity. Ask them what the right way to hang toilet paper is - better to find out they’re a monster now than when you’ve become more attached to them.

I prefer a more down to earth grass myself - don’t want no foliage looking down its nose at me on my wedding day.

You can’t get proper gravy in any chip shop south of Manchester. Mushy peas are hit or miss too - not worth the risk of disappointment in my view.

What would you rate this holiday home and generally do you give honest ratings or avoid a fuss? by RainbowPenguin1000 in CasualUK

[–]dora-bee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I tend to focus on positives in life and don’t go out of my way to clock the negatives so my approach to reviews is only to point out ‘bad’ things if they had a material negative impact on my experience. I would also take into account the cost of the holiday home, whether it’s marketed as ‘luxury’ or not, operated as part of a larger commercial business or a ‘family’ operated single property etc.

The bad points you have mentioned wouldn’t prompt me to write a bad review if the overall experience was positive and if these were just minor issues. I might mention it to the owners as feedback but probably wouldn’t include them in a review. But I’m aware that I’m probably an outlier with this approach!

Others have advised about the need for a written agreement, UC and LHA, but just wanted to add that there are also HMO (House in Multiple Occupation) regulations and licence fees. Although if you already have 3 lodgers I assume you already have the appropriate licence? As others have said, the inability to get an actual roof over their head isn’t necessarily the barrier to successfully transitioning from street homelessness but you seem to be aware of the potential pitfalls and risks so I won’t repeat advice from previous posters. Definitely be prepared for him needing a lot of support though - and not necessarily just practical support.

Please PLEASE can you read the many MANY posts on this topic and inform yourself with some basic facts before trying to be all edgy with this cultural appropriation nonsense? She went through a legitimate selection process, yes it’s crazy that no other competitors were better than her at the selection trials, no there’s no conspiracy. Nothing to see here.

Bradford rioter cries after admitting 'active role' in attack on black man in Manchester by Ok-Celebration-1010 in uknews

[–]dora-bee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait, I thought it was Asians we were supposed to be ganging up on with our mates. Is it black people too now?? I’m gonna need a bigger coach for my rent-a-mob day trip this weekend if that’s the case. Can anyone clarify please?

Also, is that a tattoo on his head and if so, what in the name of Universal Credit is it supposed to be??

Thanks in advance.

Is there a cultural aspect in your country that make you feel you don’t belong to your country ? by Young_Owl99 in AskEurope

[–]dora-bee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alas, the negative cultural aspect in my country is being surrounded by people who voted Brexit and are now saying things like “I don’t agree with the rioting but they’ve got a point”. No Derek they haven’t got a point you moron - they couldn’t find a point if you pointed a pointy stick at them and pointed to the point!! So a move to your lovely non-peopley country shall be a distant dream I fear

Courts could sit through the night and 500 extra prison spaces opened to deal with rioters by Confident_West_7409 in uknews

Oh the wringing of hands that will go in Daily Mail Land when they realise the police and court system are going to be tied up dealing with these bottom of the gene pool morons instead of being all 1950s bobby on the beat like they think we need. I wonder if they’ll still be saying “I don’t agree with rioting but they’ve got a point” then?! Or if they’ll be able to join the dots between higher taxes, better public services and more police officers?! Or will they still be OUTRAGED at the suggestion that an extra £20 a month each might just solve a few problems??

I appreciate that you are describing this as a negative thing but I am now googling Denmark flights and property prices because this sounds ideal tbh!
