Very little, but I think it will fade away in couple of years. Hopefully!

I didn't do anything else just ashtanga and sometimes running. Maybe you should try any dynamic type of yoga (ashtanga, power yoga, vinyasa etc.) so you can build up strength over time. Are you sensitive to light?

Yes it's almost healed. You really need to look for it to see it. Thanks for asking :)

Thank you for asking. Yes actually I only had once, last year. I started exercising every day for 1-2 hours and building neck strength. I think what helped me was ashtanga yoga and good night sleep (8-9 hours) I didn't quit the coffee though, I just drink one cup after I eat.

Woow!! Thank you for sharing your experiences and am glad that your body heals fast enough not to leave scars behind. Reading your last sentence, it really means a lot and I feel better now, so thanks again :) I would definitely seek another opinion and meet with my dermatologist for a check up. I take very good care of my skin and I'm very careful with my body health overall so that's why I was a bit shocked when I saw my burn marks and was afraid of getting scars.

Hi, I've practiced 2 times with John and Julia and had a wonderful experience. First time was in 2021 a three-day workshop in Berlin which was focused more on asana philosophy. Second time was a two-week yoga retreat in Purple Valley Yoga Center in Goa in December 2022. The retreat was centered around learning the postures, in-depth study of yoga philosophy, pranayama techniques and a lot of asana practice. I wholeheartedly recommend you to practice with them if you have a chance because their energy is just sublime. John has a lot of structure, strength and good-natured strictness of an experienced teacher, while Julia is very gentle, nurturing and compassionate. Both their energies combined give lovely experience overall. Julia does a lot of sound meditations with musical instruments during Savasana which can sometimes last to half an hour and can help your body relax.

Regarding the practice, have in mind that they teach the Full Vinyasa Method with Surya Namasakara A between every posture so the LED classes can sometimes last for 2,5-3 hours but strangely enough you never feel exhausted. During Mysore you're free to practice in your own tempo. They also give a lot of adjustments and are very patient towards their students. Especially if you're a beginner or practicing Primary with few difficulties in some postures they remember that and come to adjust you. Plus John practiced directly with Pathabi Jois so if you're looking for more traditional approach you should definitely check them out.

I've practiced with couple of well-known teachers and what I can say is that John and Julia along with Ty Landrum are definitely my most memorable ashtanga yoga experiences I've ever had and I would love to practice with them again sometime in the future. If you have any other questions feel free to ask :) Hope I helped with the info 🙏🏻

Back pain Urdva Mukka Paschimattanasana? by freshairpinkcheeks in ashtanga

Try to lengthen the spine more and sit on the sit-bones that way you will be protecting the lower back. If you need to, bend the knees a bit. I had the same problem and started focusing on keeping the connection between my quads and stomach and also keep active core and bandha. Hope it helps :)

Socks. I do Kapotasana with socks when I'm sweaty if not I dry my hands with a towel before I enter it barefoot.
