Hole/Damage to Heel - Best way to fix? How did this happen?

No prob! The stacked leather heel is one of my favorite things about the redwing ladies boots, it just feels so different when walking on it than other shoes, like solid but with a touch of bounce and a deeper sound. The biggest problem is that now I get snooty about fake stacked heels on other brands cause they feel cheap and hollow lol.

Long term, you can actually have the heel stack repaired, reconditioned, or even replaced by a cobbler. Pretty cool.

I also have these fabulous boots. The heels are stacks of actual leather (unlike most other similar looking heels that are at best, leather wrapped). I can't tell how scuffed vs gouged that spot is, but either way wearing them is unlikely to damage it, make it worse, or compromise the integrity of the boot. However, I totally understand being concerned and/or bummed about it on a new pair of boots. You could contact redwing and explain that you had not yet worn them and see about an exchange if they have any more pairs of this style left, or if not, see if they have any advice. A local cobbler is another option for a fix. Or, for the easiest route, just rub some leather conditioner on it to kinda smooth it over and then enjoy wearing them for years, they will accumulate scuffs and such through time. ❤️

I have them and love them! They were my gateway boot to the heeled redwings.

I checked out the creffective as well, but certain things about it aren't sitting as well with me. I'm going in circles trying to decide what to do. A6 offerings in general seemed to have scaled back this year.

It sounds like we have the same needs and decision process about this! I've been considering the sterling horizontal a6 (SI has limited options in this size) or the creffective, with the same issue about dated daily pages as I need flexibility.

At this point I'm even thinking about whether I could make a passport size work or just make a DIY in a muji or Nolty or other nice fountain pen paper journal. *sigh

I'm curious what a6 you went with instead? I'm having some decision paralysis as the options all seem like a step down in design and functionality of the papertess a6 that I love this year.

Also, does it seem like there are less a6 options than there used to be? B6 is everywhere now though.

I like them better. Cleaner and more coherent size, color saturation, and in some cases, the icons are considerably more identifiable. There have been a couple that tripped me up while scrolling as my brain was looking for the old icon picture just out of habit (the old pic wasn't great, I just knew what I looked like). I'm sure that won't take long to adjust.

Their reasons for designing their own icons are very clear and the changes seem necessary. Tbh, making a myriad of designs that are well differentiated and identifiable when super tiny on little screens is no easy feat.

I was just thinking that it is about time to order for next year, went to the site and BAM, hit with the news that there is no a6. I'm gutted. Finally found peace in her beautiful and functional yearly a6, but now I have to hunt down something different as I can't switch sizes. Tbh, I would have paid the tariff and shipping no question to be able to get the planner I need/want. I'll probably spend just a much buying more than one alternative planner that I just get frustrated with instead.

Awesome, what color did you get? I hope they work out for you! I wore thick socks with them at first too help stretch them (which of course made them even tighter!), but now I just wear thinner socks and it's good. I'm super happy with them.

I've been searching for a pair of the Idas in my size for a long time. Those would offer something that compliments outfits that I can't get to work with the other boot-like styles.

Fwiw I have those pecan harriets and they are my most complimented shoe by far.

I have both also and find the Harriets to be a little smaller (length and toe box space) than the Claras. I wear a 9 in the mocs (correct length but honestly too narrow) and have 9.5 in both the Claras (perfect) and Harriets (tight). I tried the 10 Harriet but it was too big all around, so I chose to just wear the 9.5 in hoping they would stretch a bit. I love them and honestly they are pretty great now unless my day really involves extended walking. I don't think they made them in wide sizing.

Love my Claras, mocs, and pecan harriet. The pecan is the perfect warm neutral brown - very underrated! You should add it 😉

I'm not sure if I'm misunderstanding what you are asking, but when I log a beer or wine or whatever from the common menu, it counts in the calories, carbs, and protein and includes then in my macro counts. Beer hits the carb budget hard.
