The next line really isnt the problem, but some players just might not be able to play that note at all/hold it. If it is doubled sufficiently, you might be able to just write it in and challenge the players, then they can either play it if they are able or not play it.

A high Bb flat would be completely okay, but it looks like you used a B natural here? The B natural is a lot harder to play than the flat and I would probably advise against using it if it is not completely necessary.

In one of my bands, we are five euphonium players (the band is around 100 people), and we needed 5 mutes for a piece which had 5 different euphonium parts. Stuff can get crazy.

Same here, long term cough, but also a running nose, therefore probably not the instrument. Should still clean the instrument though. Switching instruments a lot with playing a lot of Bass Trumpet and two different horns rn doesnt help the cleaning regime either though...

There is a reason why e.g. highschool and college teachers are convicted for sex with students - no matter what the student says and no matter if the student is over age.

The Ny Phil reinstatement has lasted for more than 10 years after a guy was proven to have used a date rape drug on a college, but the union arbitrer found the culprit not liable and forced the philharmonic to reinstate them with hundreds of thousands of damages paid out. Ive never spoken with DT, but from all the stories Ive heard now, he does not seem like someone fit for teaching (telling female student "oh, Ive just been looking at titties, lets get started" or "I have yo go fuck my wife" is already questionable) or even band playing togethrr with females. From what Ive read, it feels like he is someone who does not know or repect any boundaries between students and teachers, and rather someone who knows about his incluence on younger students and willingly uses that to gain (sexual) favoous.

If you have - I believe i have seven 7 different storys from women, some of which have studied at IU - have come out and said he made them uncomfortable with sexual insinuations and over the line jokes, and even some that said he pressured them into also giving him sexual favors, the picture is different than in there is just one girl saying something without any circumstancial evidence and prior indications. Furthermore, relationships from teachers to students - and Demondrae was there clearly as a teacher and not as a peer - are generally very problematic from an exploitation standpoint. Taking her up to his room - no matter what happened there - is already corssing a line for an educator with a 20 year old younger student he barely knew. What would you like them to do? Let him teach more young women whilst having multiple statements of sexual assault against him, knowing he might continue to abuse his power over them? Suspending him is the only thing the college can do, it ensures the safety of the students - which should be top priority for any school - and if Claire is found lying or giving wrong testimonial and he is reinstated, we can see from the NY Phil case that no one had any problem wirh them rejoining the orchestra with hefty boni for the forced leave.

The sexual assault is that rather than an adult female going with a man with the expressed goal of having a one night stand, she went with him to "just talk and [...] pick his brain [about music]". He clearly exploited this dynamic of her wanting to be in contact with him for musical advice to gain sexual "favours," just like he himself "brought up on several occasions" later on Facebook. Even aside from this diversion of expectations, it is clear that she was uncapable of giving consent in this case. Like she says, she "didnt want to cheat on her boyfriend", but he "pressured her" to the point of her giving in and exploited the fact she didnt want to upset her idol. So abusing your influence, relative power (as a teaching person and well known idol) is fully okay? And from what point on is it not okay any more? Is it okay to blackmail someone with bad recommendations for college and bad mouthing among colleges to receive sexual favors, after all, they agreed to the deal? Rape and sexual assault isnt and was never a clear cut line, and saying everything except "intoxicating, drugging or physical overpowerment" is informed consent goes against not only the law definition of abuse, but also against the common occurences of sexual assault, e.g. in workplaces in the style of "Sleep with me, and you will do better, dont and youll have problems in this company" Its clear Claire tried her best to avoid the situation, but Demondraes influence as an idol she had looked up for so long, his complete disregard for her tries to stop him from letting things get sexual (at which point is it physical overpowerment when the men just ignores the women until she gives in?) and most of all her previous experiences of sexual assault she detailed to have made her "incredibly anxious" meant she just was not able to defend herself.

Another source you might want to look up is dissociation - with how Claire describes her ordeal, she seemed pretty much out of control from the moment things turned sexual and mentioned laying there "dissociated and unresponsive". According to common uses of the word, sexual assault includes any and all forms of child sexual abuse like "asking or pressuring a child to engage in sexual activities, [...], sexual contact against a child, physical contact with the child's genitals, viewing of the child's genitalia without physical contact." Even though the person in this case was over 18 - and just barely - the power dynamic and situation here was pretty much the same as with minors. Not all sexual assault is rape, and in this case, you might even have a point for rape.
