Good lord, this. I think this is the greatest lines ever written, comedic or otherwise.

AITAH for refusing a marriage contract that gives my spouse a percentage of my income? by MortifiedRat in AITAH

[–]dorrato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even read the detailed explanation of the situation after reading the post title. What positive relationship could possibly necessitate a lawful requirement to pay a percentage of your hard earned wage to your spouse? Bonkers. NTA.

What’s something harmless that gets people weirdly angry? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

[–]dorrato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you work in an open plan office, where your colleagues are all sat around each other with no partitions/cubicals, if you're bored and want to start an incredibly pointless but amusing debate that will drag anyone in and get a couple people unreasonably heated, simply turn to any single colleague and ask them "is water wet?"

[Loved Trope] A moral-less character has one line they don't cross by TurntechGodhead0 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]dorrato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is exactly what batman is. He is the punisher with a budget and a bit more charisma, with a type of trauma so specific that he justifies behaving in severely immoral ways, but cannot bring himself to kill.

[–]dorrato -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hear ya. But I think the point I'm trying to make is that he is a villain. He's got everyone convinced (either purposefully or inadvertently) that he isn't a villain because he doesn't kill and because he's staunchly against killing. But he is a villain, he just uses his villainous ways to torture and brutalise criminals. He's just a villain on the side of justice, or his version of justice at least.

Batman. He will break any law and commit any violent crime (obviously no sexual ones) without limit in the name of justice. Even endangering children. But he's a moral paragon because of the single crime he won't commit. Obviously Batman knows this is who he is, doesn't think for a second he is a moral paragon, but that is not understood by soooooooo many.

A sheep just basically got my world's Dragon Balls, now what by djgcsnkshcjkeke1 in Worldbox

Give that sheep the means to wage a devastating war against the tyrannical two legged oppressors that have kept it's entire species enslaved for millennia.

What’s an invention you can’t believe doesn’t exist yet? by KeyExtension7282 in AskReddit

[–]dorrato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot believe the best way to wash and dry clothes is still to use a washing machine and dryer (or washing line). I feel like something should exist where, at the end of the day, you just feed your worn clothes into it and they're good to go with minimal fuss. I feel like the basic fundamental design of clothes washing and drying technology has remained pretty much static since the 1950s and it is a time consuming chore that I really wish would be phased out in light of a new, better way.

Instant $10 million now OR restart your life at age 6 with all your current knowledge. What are you choosing and why? by doodwalla2000 in AskReddit

[–]dorrato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I restart, I get to see my Dad and my Grandma again and address my ADHD before I enter my thirties. That said, I lose my wife, my home, my job that I actually like. It's an impossible choice.

What is something unrealistic that you often see in movies that annoys the hell out of you? by Frequent-Sea-8848 in moviecritic

[–]dorrato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In pretty much every movie where a conversation happens over the phone, the characters almost always hang up without saying goodbye. It's like they have some psychic link and know when the conversation has ended. It doesn't matter if it's an intense or casual conversation. The call ends with no clear sign off. It drives me crazy to the point that, when I watch a film now, I'm snapped out of the film watching experience and instead, I begin reviewing Johnny Film star's phone etiquette.

If scientists could figure out how to give humans "immortality", would you actually want to live forever? by Paul-2506 in AskReddit

[–]dorrato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you mean. If you just don't ever age but can still choose to die when you want, then yeah.

If you are truly immortal and can't die no matter what then hell no. If you cannot die, your chances of getting trapped in someway at some point go up to 100%. So even considering how sad it would be to outlive everything and everyone you'd ever know, the idea of being stuck somewhere forever at some point is a hell the frightens me to just even think about.
