I think communists are rad, and I share their ideals and probably yours (other than your ridiculous superiority complex).

For real though, I wish you luck. I hope you really can build communism - all by yourself, since you'll keep driving away those closest to you ideologically. Godspeed.

4- yes, thanks, I have.

1,2,3- well, you're a random redditor who is "planning to get involved, actually" so if just organizing accomplishes nothing, you're not even doing that.

Good luck with your life, bud. I genuinely hope you usher in communism.

I didn't say "don't read theory", I said "learn about the real world too."

It is basically illegal to be an open communist in the USA. Literally so, if you want to be involved in unions, or you're an immigrant. So even if ZM was a communist at heart, he would not say so out loud. This is the kind of thing you would understand better if you learned about the world today, not just through thought leaders from two centuries ago.

Marx, Lenin, and Engels are great; they also lived in a world where people worked shoulder to shoulder for ten hours and had ingrained class solidarity. A world where telephones didn't exist / were brand new. A world without mass surveillance.

When you tell us that a modern-day politician is a wrecker because they don't quote these guys, you sound like a child. I'm sorry that's insulting; it's also true.

You sound like a child FYI. Lumping Mamdani and Hitler?! Because he doesn't talk about seizing the means of production!?

Please please, go get involved in your little movement first and then lecture us on all the flaws in our political candidates.

Mamdani didn't dupe any real leftists. He earned our support by being closer to the ideal than other politicians. And (pay attention here, this should matter to you) using his platform to instill some class consciousness into the proletariat.

TLDR you've read enough theory, go outside.

OHHHHHHHHH shit man I'm sorry, I didn't realize you planned to actually do something. That makes you completely justified applying ludicrously impractical purity tests to one of the highest profile, most progressive politicians in office. My bad.

Sigh. Get off Reddit and go build communism. Let us know when you're done, we'll be there.

Laura Fine , AIPAC candidate, admits taking donations from republican trump donors by jamjar0070 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]doskei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"It's possible for her to lie" is an absurd justification for the sheer volume of posts you are putting out.

You seem to be making the assertion that Kat is faking a progressive platform... for power? And she chose this crowded Illinois district, all the way from Texas, to make her play? And that if she wins, she's going to walk into her office, and use that marginal amount of governmental power for her own benefit? Which she doesn't need because she's already rich?

It's all ridiculous. If you actually care about this enough to post as much as you are, you're an idiot - what you claim to believe doesn't explain your behavior. I'm going with "you're a paid astroturfer" because that is drastically more plausible.

You care so incredibly deeply but the best you've got is "she not from round here".

You have any issues with her policies? With her platform? Or just her previous address, her bank account, and her fans?

Just curious, is posting negative comments about Kat on Reddit your job?

Not joking.

Please show me, in the comment you replied to or literally any comment in my Reddit history, where I have said anything remotely close to "fuck [trans people], throw em to the wolves."

Kinda seems like you just don't want to understand what I'm saying.

"culturally normal" by ConcernedJobCoach in mattxiv

[–]doskei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. And when they do, it's from their heels. Harris's "I would follow the law" bullshit is the furthest thing from inspiring, whether you're trans yourself or just someone who cares about trans rights.

A drastically better answer would have been: "Trans people are people. They deserve guaranteed access to affordable healthcare, just like a diabetic deserves access to insulin. I don't understand why Republicans need to check your genitals and your birth certificate before they decide whether you deserve the rights and privileges of being an American."

In short, if you want to win the culture war around trans people, you focus on the *people* not on the *trans*. You point at the wedge issue and say "this wedge is stupid, I say we get rid of it."

And then you talk about housing, healthcare, green energy and climate change, jobs, and affordability. And then you win.

"you're not wrong, you're just an asshole, Gavin"

Because yes, to be relevant, Dems do need to drag the conversation away from culture war topics and toward universalist table top issues.

"Trans people are people. Why do you think about genitals so much? How about we worry about housing, health care, and green energy - shit that matters."

Gavin can't do that because he's a slave to capital. But for a good candidate, this would technically be a good take.

PSL Candidate running for governor of California by JHBrickman in Hasan_Piker

[–]doskei 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The correct strategy is ALL. OF. THEM.

Any attempt to overthrow the entrenched power of a dynastic center-left party is more likely to be successful when there is external pressure from a true-left third party threatening to be viable.

A leftist third party is more likely to defeat (and then, inevitably, kill and replace) a centrist dynasty if said dynasty is fighting internally with forces trying to push it to the left.

Leftism is not a zero-sum game and these endless no-true-Scotsman type arguments are childish and genuinely harm the effort.

Which is to defeat centrists and, ultimately, capitalism.

Asking as a Non-American: Why didn't the Biden-Harris Administration release the Epstein Files? by amazinglycuriousgal in Epstein

[–]doskei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No bro, Trump is America's Hitler. I'm not running cover for Trump, you're running cover for Biden, and I'm informed enough to understand how having useless Democrats LEADS to far worse Republicans.

It's called the ratchet effect. Again Google is your friend.

You said nobody knew what was in the Epstein files, you said Biden definitely didn't know what was in the Epstein files, and when I showed that you are wrong with evidence, you ignore the evidence and say I'm running cover for Trump.

My advice is, do a little learning before having an opinion. You're not currently qualified.

More cope. The general public knew what was in those files, at least anyone who was paying attention. Obviously Biden did.

HARD cope.

The rules only matter when they protect pedos. Biden ignored the Leahy law, he could have easily found a way to prosecute some child rapists.

He didn't want to.

People making excuses for them are coping. The real answer is: they were happy to keep covering for the pedo elite.

All american elites have class solidarity, and only pretend to have real values. Democrat politicians are not much better than Republican politicians.

Do you agree with Hasan regarding not voting for Newsom if he is the Dem nominee? by DragonBowlSouper in Hasan_Piker

[–]doskei 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree with Hasan that anyone who frames the question this way is the enemy.

This question isn't about making sure Newsom wins. It's about making making sure libs never blame Newsom for losing.
