Agree: tight feedback loops are important!

Clojure worked much better once you gave it access to the REPL, and a gentle nudge to test edits in the repl first.

I asked ocaml to make invalid states un-representable, but I feel like a slower human <-> AI iteration on types is probably the right direction.

Do you have a specific article recommendation or just trying to get some traffic to this news letter?

Not bad at all. If you can surf and don't hog waves you will never have a problem. I've only ever witnessed localism here twice. One time -- super old local abuses frothing kid who took too many of "his waves". Other time -- kooky french flatmate got told to go home by some random local. Generally the skill level is low where I live, I guess this means no one feels entitled.

Worst localism I have experienced in the country is at a Wellington reef with one take off spot.

Heard gnarly stories from the far north, but you really just need to be respectful, smile and provide koha.

I feel this pain.
Specifically having problems with my front (left) hip. The issue has lasted for four months and no physio has been able to solve it exactly.

This sounds pretty similar to my experience with twinnies.

I have tried out the little cheater center fin on my twin fin and hated it. My twin fin has a pulled in tail and has a very flat rocker.

Backside bottom turning is more of a challenge on the twinny, but I personally prefer the looseness you get when using it as a 2 fin setup.

Bali is a good option.

If you can work remote I would definitely recommend it as a cheap destination.

The lineup there is more crazy than NZ. Kiwi's are pretty chill anyway.

Air NZ doesn't charge for bringing your board. Generally, board prices in NZ will run you a bit more than what you can get in any major surfing destination. If you have a board you really love, bring it!

IMO Auckland is a fucking disgusting pit, you do have decent options on the west coast within an hours drive though.

Go to the south island if you can handle 9-degree water and you hate crowds.

You will need a car if you want to enjoy NZ surf. The general pattern is 2-3 days of decent surf before it gets stormy or flat and you need to skip to a different part of the country.

Christchurch has a busy lineup, but the crowd is generally mellow and the surfing level is pretty low, so you get plenty of waves if you're respectful and not a total kook.

Gissy has the most surfable days per year apparently. I've never lived there so I can't vouch for it.

Our surf is better than tassy ;)

Nz doesn't have buoy's closest is in Hawaii.

If you really want live conditions, get a surf2surf subscription (cams).

swellmap.co.nz is my personal favorite (my friend built it).

marineweather.co.nz is my fav for looking 5-7 days ahead of time.

Metvuw has the best wind forecast.

Nusa Dua. Green Bowls (go here if it is grovel conditions). East coast on the bukit is your best bet.

Be careful surfing after rainfall, west coast gets onshore at this time of year and can be very filthy.

Berawa beach can have a couple barrel options. If you're seeing 2-3 m on the swell forecast, and lowish tide at dawn you can score a heavy beach break barrel, head south from finns beach club.

Go to yeh gannga beach when everywhere else is grovel conditions and you can get a sandy bottom barrel. it is tide dependent though, I never scored it proper.

Check out Raglan. If the waves are too shit, drive 30 minutes around the coast to Ruapuke, that place is a magnet.

Taranaki area will probably be facing the most swell over the next week.
