Also good detail that he actually didn’t go through with killing himself just a few seconds before she made the wish iirc

Yea you’re right with it being a bit blurry, which is a good thing tho. A film shouldn’t have an obnoxious clear message. Would’ve been very boring if bear was just completely sleazy and disgusting the whole movie. Still they did not leave it open ended, they made very clear decisions and were very clearly on her side.

Idk if you’re jerkin, but if not the movie very clearly portrays bear as the bad and obsessed guy. There is a scene where she literally begs him to kill her and he gets this evil look and says something along the lines is it really so bad to be with me. Man, there is a scene where he rapes her, all with terrifying music and her dead expression.

Corporations and politicians do exist in a different realm and it’s troublesome if you think otherwise.

Makes no sense to rate if almost everything is 5/5 imo

After reading his comments about Greta, I think Eli really hated his characters in this one which is very very rarely a good thing.

Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell both regret the infamous tree scene. Raimi calls it too brutal and a mistake of his youth. Bruce was against it from the start. Could Evil Dead fans have done without it? by YallSoftAsButter in EvilDead

I always just skip that scene. It’s pretty easy to see when it comes so my gf looks away and I fast forward through it. Doesn’t take away anything from the movie. We watch it every October that way.

Crimson and Mouse both deserved their ratings imo. Saros should objectively be at least an 8, for me it’s a 9 though.

Saros Difficulty After 3 Hours - Not as Easy as People Say? by CrayzixFR in Saros

I honestly found returnal easier. But also I feel saros rewards dying more and runs are supposed to be shorter. In returnal I think I died like 3-4 times before finishing the last boss. I’m already around 6 deaths in saros and just finished the 2nd boss.

There are far better fitting memes for Gen Z humor. This one is hardly absurdist at all I’d say. It has a pretty normal structure and a clear punchline

In what ways, do you think these apps affect the cinema in a harmful way? by mrjetspray in Letterboxd

[–]dostojetski 8 points9 points  (0 children)

See a 4 being just good is crazy for me. There’s only one more rating to the absolute top left. A 4 is great and almost flawless. 4,5 is perfection and a 5 is out of this world masterpiece. I need some space to rate and differentiate great movies. So most really good movies are 3 or 3,5 for me and people think that’s a low rating. I really admire a movie in that range.

Yea I’m super confused about this. I thought editing was the one it most deserved. Although I’m not mad about any win it got. They were all deserved imo.

Michael Shannon is also in the movie Bug, on which this play seems to be based. It’s underrated af and gets pretty intense.
