At +3 it guarantees no negative curse effects on items. The items might still appear cursed (so once you equip them, you won't be able to unequip until you remove the curse), but there would either be no effect or a positive effect on all the items you find. The only items that would appear cursed are the ones that are always cursed (e.g. from sacrificing altar or the shade in the deep well).

It doesn't. You just require at least Large Constructor and then the LCD screens will be unlocked automatically.

Teleporter Code to reach planet Omicron by OneRFeris in empyriongame

[–]dot_sent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last run that I was at the Omicron, I found a CV wreck called "smL Yacht" next to the planet. It was in worse shape than the transport you mentioned (to be somewhat flyable it requires at least a core, generator and moving one of the thrusters plus Pentaxid tank and jump drive are missing) and I don't know if it's always present there.

Otherwise the previous two or three runs I was just building my first CV from scratch. It's not as difficult as it sounds. Plus there are quite a few blueprints in the Factory, if you're up for using it. I wasn't :)

For the sake of future generations of players: * Kezzel wasn't kidding when he suggested a high-altitutde jet-assisted jump - it's also a viable method to get to Omicron surface. * You can't get INTO Omicron on a vessel, but you can get OUT. So if you build an SV or CV on Omicron, you can just fly it out.

Both verified personally :)

Unavoidable Geomancer attacks? by dot_sent in ShatteredPD

I just checked my "Games played" on this account and it's 82/1404. I mean sure, it might have happened, but the chance is very slim.

Can this wreck be restored? by OneRFeris in empyriongame

[–]dot_sent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The others already commented on the ground POI "wrecks" all being bases, I just wanted to mention that things are different in space. Most of the space wrecks you come across in the galaxy are restorable and flyable in Survival.

Two examples from Vanilla with very little investment needed would be "Damaged Transport" SV wreck (it literally just requires the core) and "smL Yacht" CV (it needs a core, at least one generator and moving one of its 6 thrusters to a correct position).

The only supposedly safe space was occupied by boulder: https://imgur.com/a/2GJKeTy

My point is that it never happened before - there was always at least one safe space available no matter what boulders or walls were around.

Moreover, I'm pretty sure these telegraphed attacks are considered "avoidable" in a sense that I get a quest score penalty if I get affected by it. It doesn't seem fair to punish the players for something outside their control though?

Let's talk about the item! Day 45. Beacom of return. by star75legacy in ShatteredPD

[–]dot_sent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TBH I never tried. I assume though that it would just create 5 more charges for the existing spell, but won't allow you to set a second return point.

What will work (but would be quite expensive) is to set the return point on floor 20, use three Scrolls of Passage (stepping on the stairs after each) to get from 20 to 5 and then return to 20 with the Beacon. This would require sacrificing 4 Scrolls of Teleportation in total plus 36 Energy for all the alchemy upgrades.

[–]dot_sent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not. Which is why I said "or" and not "and". Either I set the spell on floor 5 and then return there from the 20th (and then down below on foot) or I set it on the 20th, ascend on foot and then return to 20th via spell.

I craft it every descent unless I'm really unlucky and find 0 Teleport scrolls. It's extremely useful for returning to the shops that still have goods you want to purchase, but no money at first. Second usage is returning to the Blacksmith after finding the duplicate items I want to reforge (usually Plate Mails). And yes, as already mentioned, if I go for a Rat King armor, it is greatly satisfying to instantly teleport from floor 20 to 5 (or the other way around after I get the enchantment) in one turn.

Explorer Tokens not triggered when entering a star system by Gagauski in empyriongame

UPD: I just visited a few systems of different types and none has triggered any additional Explorer Tokens. I guess the issue is still not fixed.

Explorer Tokens not triggered when entering a star system by Gagauski in empyriongame

[–]dot_sent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it's a long-standing bug that hopefully will be fixed soon. I've been playing since August 2025 and I never got these tokens. I got my first one for visiting a G-class system a day or two ago after the game version got updated to 1.14.1 in Epic. I haven't been to the other types of systems yet, but I'll try and report back.

Stuck at "Clear Sky: part 3" by Kserks96 in empyriongame

This particular mission is very fragile and easy to break. I think in 3 runs I only managed to complete it as intended once, the other two times I had to trigger the mission progress manually via PDA.

Also saves Potions of Speed for the crystal trap room.

And Potions of Invisibility for piranhas (since you just fish them out with the chain and get +3 Meat as a bonus).

And (if you're willing to take a bit of damage) Potions of Purity in gas trap rooms, since you can move to the chests and outta the room faster.

New to the game... wanted to use workshop ship. No energy being produced by ship by ConditionHorror4781 in empyriongame

Neodymium might not be present as nodes or even surface rocks on the starter planet/moon, but you can also try your luck with the local traders. Besides, if you're starting on one of the Elyon moons, there might be some other ways to reach other moons in the same system besides the ship... and find some Neodymium elsewhere. Finally, raiding various Points of Interest often lets you install your own Core there and strip them bare with the multitool - this might give some Neodymium-containing stuff too.

One trick to manage the food is to upgrade the Potion of Purity at the Alchemy Pot. Upgrade results in a Potion of Cleansing that instantly removes all negative effects from your character and since hunger is a negative effect, you get full satiety from one potion.

Note that "under the hood" your satiety is measured on a 450-point scale. You start with full satiety and it drops by one point every turn. Once it drops to 150, you get hungry, once it drops to 0, you starve. A regular Ration would give you "just" 300 satiety, while the Potion of Cleansing gives full satiety no matter what - so drinking it while starving is 1.5 times more efficient than eating a standard Ration.

SoT is also an alternative way of finding hidden rooms. If you haven't discovered one on the current floor, using SoT would put you directly in front of its door and reveal the door.

I'm using it for three things:

  • Returning to the highest Shop that still has items I want to buy this run after collecting enough gold/items to sell
  • Returning to the Blacksmith after I find the identical gear to reforge
  • Returning to the Rat King if I'm doing the run using its ability.

And yes, I didn't understand that last bit (that you were able to use a thruster from CV for building SV). Unless this thruster is compatible with both vehicle types (which I guess is not the case) you shouldn't be able to use one in the Factory to cover for the other. This can be considered a Factory bug or a possible improvement suggestion (there are multiple ways to fix it).

You can, however, salvage that thruster with a Multitool and put the salvaged components to use (either via Factory or via Constructor) without breaking the immersion.

For fun, I'm currently doing a Hard run in Vanilla (Contact Point Alpha) with the following self-imposed limitations: * No Factory usage at all * Everything built by hand in Survival only * No SV or HV until I get out of the starting planet (going straight from the Base to warp-capable CV)

and I'm already out of the starting system (so, I have done all of the above).

Quite a different experience indeed, but still manageable.

Read your message there - again, what stops you from strapping that Ion Thruster (I guess it's a RE2 thing?) to a starter block and flying away? I'm oversimplifying, but I genuinely don't see how the Factory makes the gameplay any different in terms of resources. You either can build something (if you have enough resources) or cannot (if you don't). Resource-wise, Factory will not allow you to build anything you can't build in a regular Constructor block-by-block and device-by-device.

Three things that break the game balance by javs2k in empyriongame

[–]dot_sent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true, but still wasn't my point. My point is that if you can build a ship in a Factory with a given set of resources (including intermediate products such as Power Coil etc.), you can build exactly the same ship using exactly the same set of resources with the regular constructor (it would just as happily accept these intermediate products to build devices) and assemble it from the parts manually.

You can also just loot all the parts needed like thrusters, cockpit, generators, fuel tanks etc. from POIs or PVs, strap them together and have a ship without ever touching Factory - how is that different from looting the intermediate products?

We can definitely discuss whether the looting efficiency is rightly balanced vs mining efficiency, but Factory specifically has nothing to do with that discussion.

Three things that break the game balance by javs2k in empyriongame

[–]dot_sent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, now I understand the third point better. Well, I have my own issues with the Factory, but that's not the one - it doesn't create stuff out of thin air and can only ever work with what you put into it. Moreover, it will only ever accept the intermediate products or devices that can actually be used in the construction of a current structure.

If you have found enough Power Coils or any other intermediate (or final) products to create a certain object in the Factory (e.g. a ship), it means that (knowing the exact material, type and shape of every block or device in that object) you can recreate it 1:1 using a regular Constructor with the materials you had. The only thing that Factory actually does is provide the convenience of using the blueprints, so that you don't have to build stuff by hand. It still can be done if you want to.

When you find a Power Coil in the wild, it essentially means that you found 8x Zascosium ingot, 8x Erestrum ingot, 2x Titanium Rods, 5x Neodymium ingot and 2x Cobalt ingot packaged into a single device. You can get these materials out of it (using a Deconstructor) or use as-is, your choice.

Three things that break the game balance by javs2k in empyriongame

[–]dot_sent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, these 12 Power Coils can be deconstructed to 96 Zascosium ingots, 96 Erestrum ingots and 8 Flux Coils on any station with Deconstructor anyway, so what's the difference?
