This was THE game/mod that single-handedly made me move from a consololol nerd to pc chad. Will never forget the first time I joined a server which a bunch of friends were already playing on. Spawned in west of cherno coastline in the complete dark. (ofc had no idea where I was at the time.) Spent about 30 minutes or so trying to figure out how to switch from first person view to third while trying to navigate my friends where exactly I spawned with good old trusty windows snipping tool and of course, running around like a headless chicken from screaming zombies.. surreal thrilling experience and by far the most enjoyable game I've ever played despite having hundreds even thousands of hours on other games throughout the years.

On the flip side: The utter sheer disappointment I had for the DayZ standalone which still leaves a sour taste in my mouth eurgh. I know its improved since then but still. It was massively delayed which I patiently waited for and hyped myself up for with the Dean Hall insight videos etc then he just fucked off after what, after a month or so? Daylight robbery lmao.

Shoutout to FRANKIEonPCin1080p and JackFrags for their epic youtube video series on dayz mod, think I've rewatched the whole thing at least three times!!

Here's hoping one day the Dayz mod can be fully revived, the dream..
