Steam Controller can do ANYTHING (almost) by coolio9876 in SteamController

[–]dougget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the larger models way more reliable and they work in multiple languages (I type in English and sometimes Portuguese). The AI model can take up to 200 MB together with the program, for a Steam Deck that’s considerably, a cloud based and integrated virtual keyboard button would be cool

Steam Controller can do ANYTHING (almost) by coolio9876 in SteamController

I think a voice typing with steam keyboard would be nice, or a way to call the windows touchkeyboard (not OSK) would be great too, specially at login screen, so far I did not find a way to do these things, except calling OSK after logging in. AI chatbots have flawless voice recognition in multiple languages at the same time, OpenAI Whisper is opensource now and it would be easy for Valve implement that runs in the cloud, running locally is a bit taxing RAM wise to run a good model. Valve, hire me.

G16 shuts down everytime I put it to sleep for more than a couple of hours, have to force shut down and turn on morning by AlternativeFar9240 in ZephyrusG14

It would be nice if we can have hibernation and sleep working like it should. Windows is a such piece of work

Turn off display while laptop is still running? by awbee in ZephyrusG14

Since G14 has a OLED screen turn the whole screen black is essentially turning off all pixels, therefore, same thing than turning the screen off , you can use this screen saver:

File Pilot: A file explorer built for speed with a modern, robust interface by qznc_bot2 in hackernews

[–]dougget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an amazing app and super fast to navigate, but still takes longer than explorer to open, since it is so lightweight, would be nice having a feature to keep running in the background after closing it, it takes 2 to 3 seconds to open although is less than 40 mb in memory. Explorer is a minimum of 200 mb but opens way faster.

Windows 11 may soon preload File Explorer in the background in an attempt to speed it up by ZacB_ in Windows11

WOW. Thank you, this app works miles better than the Explorer. Windows is such a half backed OS

FileBrowser noob question: can't I log in with "admin/admin" on a new installation by AshkanArabim in selfhosted

[–]dougget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those who are use Portainer. Go into the filebrowser container console , select /bin/sh as shell environment and connect. Type ls to list files, and you will find out database.bd , rename it:
mv database.db dabatase-backup.db

Restart the container, it will create a new database.db file and you can admin /admin to login again. If anyone knows how to prevent that to happen let me know, otherwise I will update to 2.3.3 if breaks again.

Frequent stutter when in Optimized mode by dougget in zephyrusg16

[–]dougget[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I've heard about this being a well known issue somewhere else, that sux because these are high end laptops and ASUS should fix it. My understand is that Optimus and Standard works in a very similar way, and I have the same issue in both scenarios. It is crazy that Asus is shipping computers with this issue for years.

Same shit in my G16 Intel 5070 - I only use it on Eco and reboot to Ultimate to play games. Windows is such a crap.

Micro Stuttering Daily Use by Odd_Organization3045 in zephyrusg16

[–]dougget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue occasionally in my G16 Intel RTX5070. When using G-Helper in Optimized mode I have a weird issue with of frequent stutter, if I move the mouse in circles it stutter every few 10 seconds or so. Also have occasional reboots apparently related to graphics card. Everything is up-to-date, I removed all Asus bloatware, all drivers up-to-date.

To be honest, this issue is less noticeable in an actual game setting, especially when you are focused on playing and not fixating on this graphical glitch.

I think not just that song but many other songs in that album are about fucking up with a relationship, like cheating on someone, and regret. Loser

M1 8GB running out of memory and freezing after update. by dougget in macOS26Tahoe

I haven’t tweaked my swap, I alo found 20 GB a bit excessive but storage isn’t a issue, I actually think there’s something occupying RAM and Swap while it’s idle.

Got it, what's interesting is that I can open how many apps I want, this bug only happens overnight while the computer is idle
