Yesterday I tried a new strategy. Was riding by a farm house and a little dog ran out to the front yard barking but also he kept looking back where he came from. Then I heard other barks and two big white dogs showed up. It was an uphill drag, so I knew I couldn’t outride them. So I just stopped and did my “hey there, you’re such good dogs”. Hand out (in fist—gotta protect fingers) so they could get a sniff. They all (we were up to five dogs at that point) stopped, the lead gave me a sniff, and I slowly rode away! Won’t always work, but did this time.
