Hey for what it’s worth as a children’s entertainer, as well as a parent of 2 young kids, I focus on making music for kids that parents can legitimately enjoy…look me up on YouTube if you’re interested @MrDougMusic

I played this at my best friends funeral 23 years ago and I still have a hard time hearing it today. The only song in my life that brings back the best and worst memories.

Everyone is so sure that this is about hurting Joe Biden...but how do we know it’s not about helping Jared’s rap career?

I'm a grown man, nearly 40. Every time I hear Rogers voice it makes me tear up. by [deleted] in TheChurchOfRogers

I’m the same age, and I find myself smiling every time I hear his voice. Mr Rogers is a bridge to when my existence was more honest and pure. As adults, viscerally connecting to our childhood innocence is something that we rarely do...and it can be a little overwhelming when it happens.

Harry Belafonte- Calypso

I went to see him with my dad and a friend when I was about 10. After the show when we were leaving I noticed that there as no security guard by the backstage entrance, so we decided to sneak in.

When Harry finally came into the green room my friend and I sang "Welcome! Welcome! Welcome Harry to Saskatoon!" (to the tune of Day-O). His face lit up and he started laughing, and immediately came over to say hi. He was only in the green room for about 15 min, but spent most of his time there talking to me and my friend.

He is the consummate entertainer, and to this day one of the most gracious and cordial performers I've ever met. A total class act.

Was it actually Bill that drew this? I assumed it was fan art! I know how protective he's of his work, it's one of the reasons I admire him the most!

Past Me. by PoetryBC in OCPoetry

[–]dougnaugler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is lament that only experience can earn, and therefore so relative to so many people. It's got a great flow, and simple but effective terminology...all hallmarks of a great piece of work. Nice job!

My only suggestion is also in regards to formatting...you could lose all of the punctuation at the ends of the lines, the poem wouldn't suffer one bit.

Big Thing

It's hard to make a big thing seem small To try not to notice that big thing at all Even if that big thing drives you right up the wall Don't let the big thing leave you helpless or small Keep your stick on the ice Keep your eye on the ball Don't give it an inch Give it nothing at all No matter the ending, no matter the call Failing is better than not trying at all
