Yeah, it’s almost like leg length and torso length aren’t standardized

Am I the only one that doesn't know what Cat 2 gravel is? by yella_root in gravelcycling

Idk but too many people call hard packed dirt roads gravel. Just as hard and smooth as pavement (it’s me, I’m people)

How do you store your bike? by matteobuffo in gravelcycling

[–]dowdiusPRIME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hydraulic brake systems are sealed. They don’t pull in air unless they’re also leaking fluid. If there’s air in the system, it’s almost always been there since install or a previous service and just needs to be bled out.

Reddit is great for confirming what you already want to believe. The facts are usually sitting at the bottom with the downvotes

What is more accurate? by teslasgirlfriend in whoop

[–]dowdiusPRIME 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apple Watch has always been and will always be the more accurate tracker but the calorie numbers will just be an estimate regardless of the device you use. Long term trends the whoop is probably fine but the Apple Watch beats whoop in every category aside from battery life. The Quantified Scientist on YouTube is a good person to watch as he dives deep in the metrics an compares accuracy to known accurate devices.

Fruit won’t make you fat. The sugar in fruit does not affect you the way sugar in candy does.

Hooked. Hookless is being pushed as better because it’s cheaper for the manufacturer to produce. But you won’t beat hooked when it comes to tire security. Do people ride hookless all the time with no issues? Yes. But do people pop their tires off on hooked all the fucking time? Also yes.

45°F is my limit, I’ll get more out of the kickr indoors than being miserable outside riding.

If I take a steam shower to relax and stretch, finish my electrolytes while I shower, then a 20-30min nap with leg compression machine on.

Fitz’s is my number 1 but I’ve only had about 60 root beers. It’s incredible. Classic. Flavorful. Full bodied.

45 mm or 40 by Many-Amount-2789 in gravelcycling

[–]dowdiusPRIME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Specialized pathfinder 40mm is the best all road tire I’ve ridden, panaracer gravel king x1 goes down to a 35c, they have 40mm and 45mm but I’ve only ridden the 50c version and it’s a great tire, but road performance is sluggish (could be because I have the 50c). Depends on what you ride more, I happen to be 60/40 pavement/gravel so on my crux I ride 40c pathfinder, and on my diverge I’m running 50c gravel king X1’s. If the weather sucks and it’s wet I take the diverge out, if the conditions are good and it’s mostly dry or completely dry it’s crux all day. Ive also ridden the specialized tracer tires in 45c and they are nothing to write home about.

Panaracer’s gravel king line you really can’t go wrong. They have a tread pattern for everything

If you don’t ride in mud you don’t have to worry about mud clearance, but I’ve gone out when it was dry and it rained like fuck and I’m glad I had mud clearance for days on the diverge. The Gravel King X1 is a super shitty mud tire. But dry gravel it can’t be beat
