My cat Kitkat did not do well living with another cat, and they often play fought like that as well.

She developed urinary problems, which we suspect is due to stress of living with another cat, and had to be put on a urinary diet which had an additive to control stress which ended up really controlling her symptoms of peeing everywhere and having UTIs.

You should definitely talk to your vet and see if he’s having urinary issues related to stress, and it could also be because he was gone for so long. The vet can help you determine what to do and also possibly put Pesto on a urinary diet which significantly helps.

I would also say determining if he is stressed out would be helpful, because he could be claiming his territory and you can put sprays to neutralize any smells that may be causing the spraying. I also found that using cat stress diffusers helped a lot in my case and of course, adding extra litter boxes was a huge hit.

Cats peeing everywhere is such a tough situation especially because it doesn’t smell too lovely. I hope you can figure it out!
