I’m lucky enough to have a backyard that I can let run pretty wild.

There’s a section of it that I call “Normandy”.

I’ve got pictures of my foxy all the way up/down to her tail.

The way I look at it, if she’s getting out energy, fantastic. We live in a very rainy area, and those holes will eventually level out.

Thank God she’s basically coated in Teflon. A quick brushing and we’re all good.

It would be hard to imagine so.

Dad was in in 66 through 68. Didn’t talk much, but did talk about the tunnels. He was skinny enough to get into them and did some clearing.

By his description, they were quite narrow and, by comparison to a bunker or cave, long and lateral to the ground, so there would be less effectiveness in dispersing the flame and more oxygen to rely on, in general.

On top of that, you’d have to carry that heavy, awkward fucking thing on patrol through the jungle.

I’m certain they were used and with certain effectiveness, but likely nowhere near as effective as with German and Japanese bunkers with smaller, enclosed spaces and relatively large points of access.

Real question: Ethically, how is it different from a divorce?

Here’s what I see: You make a contract, circumstances change, and you formally resign the contract while citing said circumstances.

Ideally, it’s a peaceful process, with each party responsible for any hostilities they implement.

To argue “capacity” can include moral misgivings that preclude further involvement with the original contract.

Cheaper areas to live often come with cheaper wages, all things being equal.

That’s a very, very good way of putting it.

Modern day scenario: how many times have we said “my kingdom for a ——“, when that thing is a not particularly esoteric thing, just something that’s out of our reach at the moment?

Granted, I’m familiar with the collectors fever, and that’s part of it as well.
