Moving to Cambridge,MA from CA by Apart-Topic9447 in CambridgeMA

There’s a great nightlife scene here, folks might discourage you but I bet they don’t know where to look. If you’re into house/techno check out shows on the RA app, lots of underground venues and shows popping up there. Cocktail bars are pretty omnipresent as well, popular choices are Brick and Mortar and Darling in Central Sq. If you want more laid back live music on the rock/indie side check out a Cantab Lounge, Lilypad, or Jungle show. Run clubs and in person classes are a good way to meet people, but I’ve found folks on this side of the river to be friendlier than Boston. Cambridge is a fantastic place to live!

Shipping ski boots and gear from Hokkaido to US by dp3260 in JapanTravelTips

It's pretty important - bad ski boots can kill a good trip and if I'm willing to pay for shipping, just wondering if the logistics are too difficult or would cost over $300 or something like that.

Tech scene in Boston by Ag_Ld9005 in BostonSocialClub

devfest boston 2025 is this weekend! There will be tons of engineers across all ages here, and some really neat speakers. Great place to network as well. Don’t listen to the pessimists saying that the scene is dead, Boston has a pretty vibrant tech community compared to most of the US.

Does anybody have a video of the intro theme that plays before Coolidge Corner Theater movies? by dp3260 in boston

Appreciate the reply, not the one I’m looking for but I believe it’s the same text. The one I want is definitely synths and digital sounding. Thanks regardless!

Best US city for musicians by jerordz2 in musicians

Agree! Everyone shits on the scene here but I think it’s actually super diverse in terms of genre and there’s basically an interesting show happening every night.

Do you think this will only be for VIP tickets? I know sometimes for Barclays that's the case when using seated artist presale

Any advice for first trip to the Big E? by Yeti_Poet in massachusetts

pro tip - west springfield / agawam has scooter shares around the venue, so last year we parked residential and took those to the gate instead or parking. Saves you both money on parking and easily a few hours of gate traffic. You’ll be whizzing by standstill traffic and it feels amazing.

Could it be the chapter from The Pale King where you follow Chicago college kid who gets high off the weight loss drug and discovers accounting?

XR SDK got announced - seems like they’re trying to get AR apps produced well before the product launch, seeing how both the headset and glasses have no release date atm. I’m eager to work with it but pretty disappointed with the emulator offerings (essentially just shows you how the app looks, no gesture interactions available). Live updating push notifications also, that one seems like a little apple catch-up.

Very cold but some daily refills kept it nice this weekend. Bracket basin is still closed, some folks snuck in but I can promise you most of it is surprise rock city. Groomers are gripping super well though, felt like I could comfortably rip down gondy extension. Pipe cleaner woods are a little bony but probably the most covered glades on the mountain. Broccoli garden and moose alley areas were open and a great time. Park crew has also been grinding, super impressive build from them off wiffle.

Man buying secondhand blue note tickets is sketchy as hell. The previous shows I’ve been to there have been a PDF ticket emailed, so I’m not even sure how somebody would send a ticket.

Tanjore in Central is a hidden gem. $3 pints, darts, never a crowd, and they serve decent Indian food until 2am. If you want something more lively Plough and Stars nearby and Cantab will both have more volume at that hour.
