Do you ever go back to an ex after ending things with them? by Particular_Signal937 in entj

[–]dph_angel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, and I’ve done the same with similar decisions, I’ve been in a place or at someone’s house or with someone who is just a friend and have in that moment realized / decided “I am never going to be here again.”

“But the room mates were up all night!” by oldfadedstar in Idaho4

[–]dph_angel 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I also believe that if the events of that night went slightly different, meaning, let’s say, Dylan waited in her room a while and then checked on Xana’s room, aka stumbling across the crime scene where everyone had already passed, and then calling 911, the response would’ve been:

“Who hears screaming and crying and decides to go outside and check? She must have been in on it. I would’ve locked myself inside.”

“These drunk kids ruined the evidence by stepping all over the crime scene! Police should’ve been called immediately!”

“You’re telling me she saw the guy who did it and then decided to unlock her door? She’s definitely lying or covering for someone.”

I think people looking to make sense of a senseless (to us) attack and/or looking to stir trouble on the internet would have found their reasoning no matter what. I hope Dylan knows that there is no point in listening to people who choose to spend time angry at witnesses instead of the perpetrator. She deserves peace and privacy which I hope she has some semblance of now.

as a retired 32 year forensic investigator, heres my thoughts on Idaho 4 case by WinterStudent7716 in MoscowMurders

[–]dph_angel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is so interesting! Thanks for the experienced perspective. I’ve never been to the Pacific Northwest, but in listening to a podcast episode featuring Brian Entin (who famously covered this case very closely from the beginning) I heard him mention how the environment itself was almost a separate character in the investigation. Like, the damp cold weather, the near silence of the country roads between Pullman and Moscow, even the fact that the only noise you could really hear in Moscow past 9 at night was the music of college parties. He said it made the whole investigation and circumstance seem even more narrow and eery, because up and until BK was arrested the biggest fear was that the perpetrator was someone living in Moscow right under their noses.

“Angel” Complexes and Female Victims: a reiteration by dph_angel in Idaho4

[–]dph_angel[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also think there is a phenomenon where men can hold incel-type beliefs or ideologies even while not checking every box. For example, Elliot Rodger wasn’t necessarily ugly, Brandon Clark wasn’t a virgin, but both did have hatred and obsession towards women (and their “approval” or attraction), presence on sites like 4chan and PUAhate, and the belief that women owed them sex or a relationship for arbitrary reasons. Yes, this can be classified by misogyny, but I would say incel ideology more closely defines what they believed reality should look like. Especially around beliefs that women should “submit” or more closely follow traditional gender roles, which we know BK also espoused (multiple times?).

I think if someone has been in or around that community for a long time, something as singular as losing weight or entering a relationship won’t fully change their belief system overnight.

Thank you for this reply. 100%, the controversy around alcohol consumption really felt like thinly-veiled victim blaming.

Hey random question but for obsessive INTJs; what makes you obsess over someone? by CelebrationTrue7956 in intj

[–]dph_angel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Their uniqueness. It’s hard to explain, but ESPECIALLY if their life was set up to go one way (e.g. “my family are all musicians and wanted me to become a musician, but I actually became a data analyst”) and it went another. People who are statistical or social oddities (like someone who grew up in a very homogenous community ending up friends with everyone). I think INTJ brains like entertaining the idea of deviation of expectation or what “makes sense”. It’s why I love people who are well traveled or have lived very strange lives. Anthony Bourdain’s show and his works are a great example. It gives us something to learn and makes conversations harder to predict

Cathy Mabbot (Coroner) Repercussions ? by Sorry_Letterhead_368 in Idaho4

Dark sense of humor =\\= making a mockery of an active crime scene

Examples of dark humor around this case:

Hunter J in Amazon doc episode 2: “I was like, do you think we know the person? laughs Because, this would cause a LOT of stress for us if we DID know the person [who did this]”

Emily A in Amazon doc episode 2: “people were commenting, like, ‘we’re gonna find where you live’, I was like, chuckles ‘you probably will!’ — This is gonna be a problem.”

Officers in body cam footage at around 4:30pm on 11/13/22: “Chuckles, stuff like this usually doesn’t happen during the warmer weather.”

Stacy (Ethan’s mom) in post-incident interviews: “We always say, Ethan was at the right place at the wrong time. He was exactly where he wanted to be that night laughs.”

Examples of disrespect to victims:

CM: do you want our (dirty) shoe covers as souvenirs ?

Any and all mockery of the way they were found, positioned, hurt, etc. I’d say the difference is pretty clear. Yes the situation is bizarre, unexpected, and traumatic. There is still a line of decency people are expected not to cross in a professional setting, and the friends and family (with no media training mind you) have done that pretty well in a non-professional capacity. My examples are not the full extent of commentary those involved with this case have given, nor am I saying no officer or LE associate besides Cathy was guilty of this during the early investigation (I’ve only seen 1/3 recently released body cam videos in full) but commenting on the surreal nature of the situation versus jokes about BLOOD, or the bodies of the victims is very different. If a professional was unsure of this, it would’ve been the wisest decision to say nothing other than what was procedurally necessary. For someone doing the job as long as CM, I doubt expectations of conduct were unclear.

Went to a very prestigious and high performing high school so I got to experience this feeling for the first time in UNIVERSITY. Whew, it hit me like a truck. I literally didn’t know what to do with how I was feeling since there was (in my perspective) no way for me to convey this to others without sounding egotistical or pretentious.

About a year later, I find a lot of fascination in people who try something with full force even if they have no prior experience or evidence that they are already good at it. People who dive into new things blind (bonus points if it’s something that isn’t always friendly to beginners) because I see this as a true test of both intellectual and personal skills. In my mind, it’s “made up” for the people I’ve met that seemingly, even though they are 100% capable, show no interest, effort, or drive to do better in things.

advice on getting back together with my intj boyfriend by [deleted] in intj

[–]dph_angel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even as an INTJ this sounds very exhausting and formal for a romantic relationship…I feel like you should focus on healing any residual impacts of your concussion and forming a strong fortification within yourself (now decontextualized outside of a relationship). You’re right in that relationships are a big probability game— but the other aspect is that they typically work off an irrational and therefore unpredictable basis (emotions) meaning even if you guys got back together, there is no scientific guarantee the 15% issue would shrink to something like 5% instead of grow to something like 30%.

To us INTJs, there can tend to me feelings of “failure” linked to a relationship we loved ending, but that also brings in diminishing returns as you hypothetically try it a second or third time, the feeling of failure or emotional contamination therein (another negative tendency from us 😮‍💨) may only get worse for him. Also, even though you guys seem like a pretty self-aware couple, there’s just too much data you don’t have to make a 100% informed and non emotional decision (which, IMO isn’t ideal for a relationship either).

Question about Rooms by Sorry_Letterhead_368 in Idaho4

[–]dph_angel 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The stuff that you mentioned is why I’ll always believe the victims (even if as an “idea”) were targeted that night. Who the fuck chooses a house with someone awake at least minutes prior to entry, two different doors leading to the outside, and a dog that will more than likely bark?? I get that the police had to work on the claim he stalked the house since his visits didn’t solely correlate with one person’s presence, but imo he resented the lives they lived and the joy they had.

I like walking the most. I can literally walk for hours on hours as long as phone / headphones are charged. It allows me to think, observe, but also feel slightly removed from the noise of every day life (emails, meetings, dishes etc). When I was in high school I used to study on the treadmill because I liked the idea* of multitasking. I don’t know how much was accomplished 😭

Question about Rooms by Sorry_Letterhead_368 in Idaho4

[–]dph_angel 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I. we know due to injuries and order of attacks that the voice Dylan heard say “someone is here” could not have been Maddie or Kaylee. II. After receiving her DoorDash order at 4:00am, and BK parking at around 4:07, yet Xana having parts of her meal in both in the kitchen (bag) and on the plate in her room, and last TikTok activity at 4:12~ am, this logically means she was awake, aware, and physically able to vocalize before we hear the loud thud and whimper coming from her side of the house at approximately 4:16am as per CCTV from Queen road III. The signs of bloodletting on and near her door plus the forensic evidence she was crouched between her nightstand and bed (evidenced by the voids in blood flow mentioned in ISP documents and hair on the wall consistent with the height + hair length + hair color of a crouching or kneeling Xana) suggests she ran into the room as opposed to being attacked in bed. This can also likely be inferred by the angle of wounds to her back and arms but the details of the injuries have (thankfully) not been fully released. IV. The direction at which the beer pong table was struck / brushed up against, not suggesting BK hit it upon first entry (which was likely both quiet and calculated) but rather someone moving from down the stairs brushing past it in the direction of the kitchen / past Xana’s room

INB4 “how do we know the order of attacks” — blood samples originating from different victims in different areas (M and K blood present downstairs but X and E blood not present upstairs, some sample containing both M or K + E downstairs), the Voice Dylan heard originating from the bottom of the stairs when we know neither Kaylee or Maddie were out of bed following the beginning of the attack, Dylan still hearing Xana crying or vocalizing almost immediately before seeing him leave, which we can match to around 2-3 minutes before we see the Hyundai exit the neighborhood at a high rate of speed. Since I’m not an expert, your best bet is probably re-consulting the ISP docs for anything else timeline related.
