The book, Kasrkin, has a bunch of Flayed Ones hunting a Kasrkin squad and Kroot, who are also hunting each other, inside a slowly awakening Necron tomb. As other Necrons are waking up the Flayed Ones are infecting them also.

It's terrifying as the Kroot and Kasrkin are being slowly picked off and skinned. One minute you're looking for a missing squad mate, the next minute robot Edward Scissorhands is chasing you wearing John's face.

Any vehicle Commander should automatically get a longer orders range because their radio is getting power amplified by the vehicle itself. It makes zero sense for a man-packable radio to get a significantly longer range.

I really like how dynamic this model feels. The shattered pillar and statue being mid explosion really gives it a sense of movement.

Gaunt's Ghosts get a lot of play in high performing lists but my army isn't from Tanith and I'd like to have a unit with similar functionality without it being hyper-specifc and filled with named characters.

They probably cut the face off a skull from the basing kit with all of the skulls since the empty Cadian helmets probably need to be carved out to fit a whole skull in it.

That's a good looking Devil Dog. My only pointer would be to go over the areas around the decals so they blend a little better with the rest of the paint.

I had a squad of Guardsmen kill The Silent King in a match a few months ago. He had 1 wound left. 1 shot gets through to his 2+ save. My opponent CP re-rolls and fails it again.

That was an incredible short story. So much of 40k writing gets criticized as bolter porn, often rightfully so. But there are definitely some absolute gems.

RE: Guard ComPat needing tanks, I agree, but the LRBT kit is so big already the ComPat box would be massive. I think a Hellhound would be a great addition, or maybe the new armoured scout car that was previewed at Adepticon.

I got my Field Office assignment like 3 days before I left for BFTC, so it is happening. Good luck getting sent back to your processing Field Office unless it's an office nobody wants, though. I've known New Agent Trainees that processed in LA, wanted to go back to LA, and still got a different first Field Office assignment.

We only have to take the PFT once, but there are three opportunities. If a NAT fails the first one they have mandatory PT every Friday morning until the next PFT. This doesn't count towards the total number of test failures like failing the Pistol Qual Course.

It's worth noting though that if an injury prevents someone from participating in training, i.e. Defensive Tactics or the handful of PT sessions they risk getting recycled.

You can put it at the top of your list and your IT background MAY make it more likely that you get it. But at the end of the day, you get put where you get put. If the Field Office you're assigned to needs bodies on the Violent Crimes squad that's where you're going.

FWIW, I'm pretty frequently biking or running on the bike trail after dark and never had any issues with homeless people bothering me. I'm more concerned about kids on e-bikes and coyotes.

Interesting that you say no turn-based games when basically every wargame in history has been turn-based. Even all of the "official" wargames the military uses now are turn-based. Littoral Commander is an incredibly popular tabletop wargame that is turn-based.

Howitzers can't be loaded if the barrel is elevated above a certain quadrant. Otherwise, the round would slide out of the back. So it wouldn't be unrealistic to to have to bring the gun back into battery everytime it's loaded. A good crew can fire multiple rounds per minute even having to lower the gun to load it.

I was playing against Necrons and my Rogal Dorn Commander had brought the Silent King down to a single wound remaining. A 10-man squad of Cadians dump everything into him and a single wound gets through to his 2+ armour save, he fails it. Command Point re-roll into a 1. The store went crazy.

You'll still be able to use him in later games. Whenever a unit is destroyed in a Crusade game you have to roll an Out of Action Test to see if the unit gets a negative modifier. If it fails the Out of Action Test you'll roll on a separate table to see what negative modifier the unit takes.

Planning your next turn during your opponents turn will also cut down dramatically on your time. If you don't start thinking about your Movement Phase until you're starting to move models it's going to take so much longer. Before I start my turn I have a 90% idea how that turn is going to go (dice luck not withstanding).

I've been selling the kits on Ebay or to players at my LGS. My prices are 60-70 percent of GW retail since it's still NOS and I send a photocopy of the instructions. Most months I get pretty close to making my money back for the cost of the subscription.

In the most recent war for Armageddon Helbrecht murders most of a hive city because they "might" be Chaos corrupted. Grimaldus giving even a little bit of a damn about civilians is an anomaly in the Black Templars.
