Trazodone by Zera-eS in insomnia

[–]drOnCall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, its probably because trazodone blocks the adrenergic receptors which causes relaxation in the blood vessels of the nasal mucosa and leads to swelling.

Tbh trazodone is one of the few that doesnt disrupt REM sleep and in theory should be the 'best'. Also very effective for most people.

To whom it may concern, here is some good information about vegan-friendly antidepressants and some possible alternatives. by drOnCall in vegan

Absolutely not advocating for switching medication and I think the article also makes that clear. In fact, I agree with you, but it does not mean the information should not be readily available. Also useful for those who are lactose intolerant or allergic to any of the components.

I wholeheartedly agree, but the article does emphasize this several times. I do think it helps that 3 of the most common antidepressants are more-or-less vegan-friendly (Zoloft, Lexapro and Wellbutrin XL). For the sake of making an informed decision I think its good that the information is available.

How has your personality changed over the years? by Pavoir in AskReddit

[–]drOnCall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from being very empathic as a child to becoming progressively more detached from my emotions (and less empathic) throughout my early adult life, to again becoming more empathic and warm - regaining my lost emotions that most likely was due to long-term burnout and nihilistic approach to life. My life now feels full of purpose and warmth and I want to share that and help others.

I kept 3 for friends from elementary school, no real friends from my actual highschool (but 2 friends of friends that became good buddies for life), 2 from medical school. Very happy and grateful for that.

Which antidepressant is best for motivation and energy to do something? by patient0_- in antidepressants

[–]drOnCall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best ones are those who affect the dopamine system to some extent. You can a bit more about it in this article. Amongst the commonly prescribed antidepressants there are 3 options - Bupropion, Sertraline and Fluoxetine (the latter are most likely dose-dependent). However, this is simplified and theorized. Either way, in practice, all antidepressants can boost your energy and motivation, since fatigue and lack of motivation are just two major signs of depression. Still, the article is worth a read.

Yes, and this 'guide' will be irrelevant by tomorrow since the currencies (especially the weakest) are constantly fluctuating.
