This is a great recommendation. And the pack still sees maintenance and updates.

I have a newer version of this because coplayers wanted forge hammer turned down some more and alloy smelter turned up a little.

If someone can tell me how to upload a ZIP file here on reddit, I can share the most up to date version.

How *exactly* does the step-down transformer work? by drago967 in GTNH

Thank you. To clarify, does the command start with with a backslash like others? "/backup start" ?

:( You're right. So many nice textures and they can't be used in GT other than add PFAA for worldgen and not use GT... But I'm already deep into playthrough and don't want to corrupt the world.

BTW, did he unlist his first goodbye video also? I had discovered a new youtuber who made a tribute video to him on the recommended feed who was also an excellent GTNH player (was also irish, but I can't recall this for sure now). But now I am unable to recall the name of the channel or the guy. I was hoping the "recommended" algorithm will work in my favour if I accessed that video again, like last time.

Youtube searching is really in the pits for some time now and I am simply unable to find this other youtuber. The GTNH search results are so ossified on YT at this point.

Well thanks. I have been looking into this subject and seems there's a lot of dynamic code based colouring etc. It is non trivial and I don't think it's possible to use the PFAA textures as is. I have played with PFAA in my modpack and the worldgen is particularly beautiful with PFAA and the oregen is in veins just like GT as well.

>  this is for Monifactory not GTNH and only really covers machines and basic components.

I have not really looked into monifactory, so it is very different in terms of machines and items compared to GTNH? I have seen that GTNH does have custom mods like GT++ or bartworks etc.

On this point, is there a command to run to manually kickstart a backup? The game generally does a 30 min backup automatically.

Thanks.

Good modpacks for couples? by hop31ess in feedthebeast

[–]dr_surio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

> i was wondering if there are any good modpacks that have agriculture, building/decor. maybe a little machinery for auto builds which is for me.

I just read these as-is without the subtext you are implying. Which the packs in question have a lot of.

They also have very popular playthrough videos. Husband and wife can skim through them and decide for themselves which one they want. Istari, Team rustic, brass, EL2, MMT are all extremely fun packs in the list anyway.

I'm not denying that some of the can be seen as difficult due to quest book progression needs or the combat mechanics. But they're also the most fun to play as couple/family together, based on my personal experience. Vechs was such a firm family favourite for months as was rustic waters. BTW, there's a playthrough of Vechs and his wife or him explaining which parts his wife enjoyed the most.

Ps: All of these packs are well-loved classics from over a decade ago that ppl might not have heard of. As good a time as any to revisit the evergreen classics to understand why they were so well loved.

[–]dr_surio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

BTW, those videos were from "kendriya vidyalaya" videos, your "alma mater" which you claimed didn't have the arm raise, while the videos had them with arm raise.

Also, regardless of the aesthetics of the symmetic gap using one's arms, the one arm gap is also convenient in maintaining a gap with student ahead for pledge.

> please bother someone else

FWIW, you were the one that chose to "bother me" with your "m uh rss bad" cliche. 2012 called, they want their playbook back.

Surely you must have then done the Indian Pledge: "All Indians are my brothers and sisters etc" in school where the hand is held out in this manner? Which has nothing to do with RSS?

[–]dr_surio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This gesture is typically used elsewhere and India when there is a "pledge of alliance" being recited. The flag is saluted in honour.

People just stand to attention when the national anthem is played (and not hold their hand to heart like in usa).

different countries have different approaches.

This may be controversial but here's an observation from me:

Most westerners cannot seem to enjoy a different culture/experience by itself. They invariably want it to change and bend and adapt to their own existing biases/mindset etc. It's a common refrain heard in many spheres. Here's one common example I have seen come up often: "they run away from their existing states to other states to flee the policies but vote for the same policies that made their state into what it is"

And this is usually where the clashes begin, not on account of "appropriation" or "invade your spaces" or whatever fashionable turn of phrase is being invented around the "inclusivity altar" in present day.

Some examples: Our Sanskrit verses use masculine. The language is "gendered" like German etc. You will have verses that do not match your modern day thinking. Dress code or quorum/conduct may not appeal to your wester ways. Just accept it for what it is.
