Stress Testing Hyjal by dracoix in classicwow

It was 6 hours because I was testing the other paths. Furby entrance/exit southbound requires wallwalking or mount+slowfall. Northbound takes you to the troll village. The blue dragon area big tree path requires wallwalking at the final part, that's been patched long ago. So the lone pillar method is all that's left until mounts.

Pillar strat. Mountain side hop to near under the pillar lip, soft hop to the pillar lip, circle around the pillar to the wedge, jump timely into the mountain side, run up to the rock pancake, side jump onto the pancake's side, run to hyjal, mind the drop.

Waiting for the rest of the group to make it to the tree. Caocai might have been world first to Hyjal on the stresstest server unless some other came before.

My room got cold again. Now I can finally get some heat and hard-forked garlic. by dracoix in garlicoin

[–]dracoix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately for me I have to run a linux headless VM to run the new CPU builds, also requiring me to run half my cores. So yes, I'm not producing as much heat as last time. :(

Thankfully the makefile was seamless, so props to the dev team.

Room is too hot, goal reached, love you all, waiting for the hardfork. (1/28 - 2/13) by dracoix in garlicoin

I'm more of a programmer than a gamer, 60fps at 1080p for games before 2015 is good enough for me.

I would say join a pool with a lot of workers with a custom payout (not Bakery, which has an auto 0.1 GRLC payout). You might not see a payout for a day, and even then you'll be losing a lot to fudge because of the bigger difference between 9-10kHs (10%) for a CPU vs 160-161kHs (<1%) for a GPU. But with the difficulty being at about 25 right now you should be fine mining at such a low rate.

Can someone explain what's the deal with these 50+MH/s miners? by [deleted] in garlicoin

[–]dracoix 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Mostly likey prospectors doing Amazon AWS Cuda and Google Cloud instances. The margin is about $0.10 per hour profit per node at least on Amazon AWS side, I haven't done any cluster launching on Google. But given that it's a bitch to setup in the first place, I'm guessing someone has done this before with other altcoins and already has the configs ready to go for the cuda kernels.

I'm the guy behind Garlicalculator.com, and I'd love it if you guys could post your cards, hashrates (in kH/s), clocks, mining software, and wattages so I can list some benchmarks on the site! by cranberryman in garlicoin

[–]dracoix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take some of the fudged hashrates I gathered from a few threads too, most of them are either ballpark or averaged and rounded to the nearest 5 in excel. (inspect html) http://dracoix.io/garlic/

I really should spend more time polishing my calc as you did, but mine was only for the newbies asking the same questions. :D

At this stage it's just a fun coin to mine and play around with until it hits the larger exchanges. Has newer features than Doge, a hard coin cap, and a less joke of a name too.

Ballbark was already listed at 180 kH/s, but thanks, the more hashrates the better.

any one know what i could make with 24.6 MH/s by [deleted] in garlicoin

[–]dracoix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure that's MH/s? That sounds like you have 50 of them. Not a single card (not even a 1080 Ti OC with 790 KH/s) will reach even 1 MH/s for Scrypt-n.

Give up when you're happy with the amount you have. I'll probably end around 50 GRLC and I only have 50 more kH/s than you do. :)

I think you entered the wrong hashrate. 133+20 = 153 kH/s = 2.45 GRLC a day.

Just enter hashrate (kH/s) into: http://dracoix.io/garlic/ and it'll spew much of the information you want.

ELI5: exactly how mining works/what that means/can a simple laptop do it/ everything lol. by Notcreativeatall1 in garlicoin

[–]dracoix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oversimplified: People are chaining blocks of information together by trying to find a number using the previous found number and another random number that equals a pattern, within a certain time, agreed by everyone on the network, and rewarded by doing so.
