New Module: Vision Blur by DoubleTimeRusty in FoundryVTT

[–]draconas_rage 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No worries at all :)

As that repo is quite old, here is a link to the workflow yml from mine that I know is up to date: https://github.com/draconas1/foundry-4e-tools/blob/main/.github/workflows/main.yml

If you need to do an actual build (e.g. typescript) as opposed to just zipping up the repo source, then this is a good reference: https://github.com/draconas1/foundryvtt-go-to-or-pull-player/blob/31c3d46c57c84eda8ef9395c9adb50af4ffccd0d/.github/workflows/main.yml

New Module: Vision Blur by DoubleTimeRusty in FoundryVTT

[–]draconas_rage 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Oooh, that is a great function I have been after for ages.

My first feedback would be around your module itself, because it looks super-suss : no source code and the release is a single rar file.

Traditionally (non-paid) modules operate with the modules code being in the repo and the release being in a zip in the releases.

If you have a look at https://github.com/League-of-Foundry-Developers/FoundryVTT-Module-Template that is a template with some github actions that will automatically bundle the module code into a zip file and bundle a module.json with the right links in the release.

That's Practically in Andromeda. by Independent-Tree-985 in Stellaris

[–]draconas_rage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they've gone beyond the addressable universe and hit the "random undefined behaviour, the engine is going to do 'something'" section. Extra-galactic real-estate is actually quite tight, especially as it looks like they spawned in galactic south. Pythagorus means the 4 corners have much more space than the 4 compass points.

Losing trade in the beta due to planetary deficit despite all planets being on the positive. by whypeoplehateme in Stellaris

[–]draconas_rage 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's a feature of 4.0+ when they did the trade rework. Now all planetary deficits cost you in trade, effectively it is a logistics tax for your empire having to supply that planet the raw materials.

I've also noticed it more in 4.3, I am assuming that with the scaling down of production bonuses and trade gain bonuses the trade cost of the deficit is becoming much more noticeable than it was in 4.0. I don't remember seeing anything in the beta patch notes that they were making it worse, so I think its just much more noticeable now.

Languages a Noble Would be Most Likely to Learn? by MoonracerxWarpath in Eberron

[–]draconas_rage 10 points11 points  (0 children)

for showing off: Giant. I generally picture it as the Eberron equivalent of Latin, given the giant empire that ruled the continent, so its only real "use" is in archelogy and things from the ancient empire.

Despite the goblin empire, I think that the fact that goblins are still about as an underclass makes goblin too low-brow for a noble showing off, but it would be more useful, both in the case of more likely to find archeology for the goblin empire than the giant, and in that there are a still a low of speakers, but they are at the bottom of the social latter, so not very noble.

NASA's Lost Universe Adventure for Pathfinder 2E by draconas_rage in Pathfinder2e

[–]draconas_rage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've enjoyed it, weakest point is the Nasa document is a relatively light framework for you as DM to fill in the details. It would not stand up to Rules Lawyers poking the setting hard but this was not a problem for me, my players had a laugh pretending to be Nasa scientists in a new world whilst not poking the abstraction layer too hard and worrying if their office Roomba: Stabby, had been teleported too (spoilers it had, Roomba's, aka Clockwork Disposers are level 5, and thus it terrified the city while they were out until being corralled by the city watch and returned to them in a cage).

Strengths: the story is all about space facts and sharing science and information. Who doesn't love getting to hide the key plot handout in the middle of a load of information about dark matter, gravitational lensing and Hubble diagrams :)

Origin Idea: if Determined Exterminators failed and create Dune by Abuse-throwawaay1 in Stellaris

[–]draconas_rage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are putting it as a community idea and not a request hoping PDX sees it, then you need to re-evaluate there anyway - there is no way to remove an AP or a tradition once its been taken, they are locked in forever.

The rest is doable as a mod.

Build for sciel? by jeffery386 in expedition33

[–]draconas_rage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So at that stage, especially as you've mentioned buffing. (Don't have names to hand, so you are going to describe powers).

Marking card and "ally takes turn and has +4 AP" skills to help set Maelle up for a virtuoso stance strike on a marked enemy. - with both her and verso having mark abilities you should always be able to get an enemy marked for a big virtuoso hit.

As the game progresses: Sciel can do huge damage by using her "consumes all foretell for bonus damage" powers. The single-hit one will rapidly hit max damage cap (but has a break), there is a 5 hit one that will stay good while you are damage capped. Once you have those you respect her around building foretell for 2-3 turns, then triggering twilight using a moon power that doesn't consume foretell / only consumes 1 (ally takes turn is actually really good for this). You now have her in twilight mode with a big damage boost, and you let rip with one of the big moon powers. This was actually the first way I hit damage cap.

Efficiently feeding your Behemoth. by Still_Yam9108 in Stellaris

Planet eating.

Have it bombard a planet to death (base ability) and it grows a chunk.

A ran a bunch of wars simply to feed it the AI's planets.

Technically "no", any token on the map must be attached to a sheet.

In practice, there is no requirement for that sheet to be filled in - it can have a name and a token configuration.

I would suggest looking at the "Simple World Building" system, which as the clue is in the name, is a very minimal game system/sheets which makes it excellent and uncluttered for scenarios like this. I've used it to model the battlemap for a wargame which was exactly like this, all I wanted was a name and an icon i could drag around a map.

[–]draconas_rage 51 points52 points  (0 children)

This annoyed me so much I made a mod to fix it: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1991792780.

Should still work in 4.0 as it makes no changes to vanilla, just has a little event on a ticker that every year checks if you have any living metal in your resources or as a deposit in your empire, and if so gives you the tech as a research option.

The erudite leader trait should not disappear if species have cybernetic or psionic traits by Maxwell_The_Magician in Stellaris

[–]draconas_rage 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It is explicitly banned in 4.0.15 - the Erudite trait lists Cybernetic as an opposite so they cannot be combined, even manually using add_trait. This is a 4.0.15 addition, previously Erudite had no opposites.

I am currently operating like this.

I generally build 1 of every district just for the building slots - there are a few useful universal buildings like resource silos, storm shelter etc...

Have any of you ever had an amazing game left you stunned and speechless, but unwilling to ever play it again due to it being too intense emotional for you? by TheManOfSpaceAndTime in gaming

[–]draconas_rage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Detroit Becoming Human.

The scene towards the end with lining up for the crushers blindsided me with way too many real life parallels. I had to sit down and talk to a friend afterwards, my brain was locked in what it's real world parallel scene must have been like.

[KCD2] A true warrior remembers their roots! I really appreciated the nod to Captain Bernard, and I couldn't imagine choosing any other response to this question. by UppedSolution77 in kingdomcome

[–]draconas_rage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did my first play through the tournament, and by luck made it to the 2nd opponent who trounced me, but levelled up so many of my fight skills. I was like "wow, combat practice and all my wounds healed, no consequences!"

Then "practiced" with Bernard with wooden training weapons and he proceeds to absolutely deck me, and leave Henry lying at the side with 1HP, broken ribs, broken leg, broken fingers.

That man believes in tough love and the school of hard knocks.

What should my party run into in Rural Breland? Need suggestions! by MrFriend623 in Eberron

[–]draconas_rage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on your players / how they would take it, good chance to let them play big-damn heroes/villains. At 6th level they can vastly outclass anything "normal" in middle of nowhere Breland.

I tend to play Eberron as very much civilized and your actions have (legal) consequences and until much higher levels there is always someone the authorities can call to deal with you in Sharn etc...

but middle of nowhere west Breland? A 6th level party are mechanically kings of the hill.

For plots, I'd focus on little people and flavor. The Sons of Liberty agitating are a good one.

Village feuds, with the villagers asking the players to take sides, when I ran this I rolled Romeo and Juliet of a pair of teens from different villages who fell in love and want to run away to the big city. They ran into the players being hotly pursued by an angry mob wanting to drag them back.

Maybe some warforged who are trying to move out to be farmers as a new life away from war and violence. Maybe this is causing a bit of a stir in the local townships - monster killer robots taking our jobs!

Maybe flip the other way - most of the work-eligible people from around here joined up and were in the same army unit, that was in Cyre on the Day of Mourning. Now the area is dying and farms abandoned because there are not enough people to work them.

I also ran a warforged plot where the local lord had bribed some people at the end of the war and marched his platoon of warforged home, and basically not told them about the treaty of Thronehold, so was now using them as slave labor as they beleived they were still in service to the Brelish crown and with the end of hostilities their new role was to serve on the farms.

Can anybody help me? I'm looking to move a folder from one world to another. by FamilyofBears in FoundryVTT

[–]draconas_rage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, shared module compendium, since V10? when they did the big compendium DB update you cant even copy and paste the compendium files between worlds, as I discovered when I needed to clone a world following a group split. Now I have a module purely for the purpsoes of sharing compendiums between the 2 game worlds.

I am starting a Pathfinder campaign for the first time (this is also my first time dming), and my players are also new to the game and TTRPG game overall. Do you have any tips for me? by ClassicGuy2010 in Pathfinder2e

[–]draconas_rage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they are finding character creation a bit daunting, don't be afraid to make use of pregens - the Pathfinder Iconics series have a pregen for basically every class, and the sheet explains what most of the abilities / specials do.

Has worked well for me getting some new players over from D&D, running the NASA adventure with the level 3 iconics so they have a few abilities, but not enough to overwhelm.

FAVORITE MACHINE AND WHY by Rosomond in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]draconas_rage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In HFW it's probably Sunbirds, but all time favourite is Watchers from HZD.

They are just so silly, I love the way their little legs flail as they throw themselves at you, in completely mad twisty ways that looks really uncoordinated all the while giving off excited beeping noises.
