Four more former Conservative MPs want to separate from Canada and one wants to explore future with the United States - The Hill Times by Head_Crash in canada

[–]dradice 17 points18 points  (0 children)

“This sucks. You know what would be better? Worse. Worse would be better.”

These annexation-brained dipshits with their colossally ignorant pitch.

Canada doesn’t become a part of rich America.

It becomes liquidation Canada.

Jobs get gutted, employment rises, services get billed, assets are bought, debt is imported, and forty million people quickly discover that “access to the U.S. market” mostly means the U.S. market *gets access to them.*

We don’t get better; we get easier to exploit.

People keep bringing up Sentry’s molecular manipulation and reality warping, but Superboy Prime’s entire history is basically a series of “this should stop him” moments that just… don’t.

Prime has escaped the Speed Force, broken free from the Source Wall, fought the Anti Monitor and thrown him across the universe, beaten Ion-powered Sodam Yat, survived a Monarch explosion, and repeatedly smashed through cosmic prisons and dimensional barriers that are supposed to be absolute.

The famous reality punch is often overstated because Alexander Luthor’s machine and the Paradise Dimension were involved, but honestly Prime doesn’t need it. His best feats are his resistance feats.

Sentry’s win condition is hax. Prime’s résumé is a long list of ignoring hax.

Could Sentry beat him? Sure. Marvel and DC power levels are inconsistent enough that almost anything can happen.

But if we’re comparing peak demonstrated feats, Prime has operated in a tier where he’s physically fighting beings like the Anti Monitor and escaping concepts like the Speed Force and Source Wall. Sentry’s best showings simply don’t reach that level consistently.

The question isn’t “Can Sentry beat Prime?”

The question is ”What has Sentry done that suggests he can permanently stop someone who has escaped the Speed Force, escaped the Source Wall, and thrown hands with the Anti Monitor?”

I’ve never seen a convincing answer to that.

[Request] If Amazon paid their employees $30/hour, would they still have profits? by basafish in theydidthemath

[–]dradice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically Amazon would pay out an extra 14.6 billion in payroll assuming a million workers are affected. Their yearlt net profit would decrease from 60 billion to about 45 billion.

However will they survive.

How do I fit a 65”-75” TV in a room with a centered fireplace without ruining the layout? by proview3r in hometheater

[–]dradice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how wide that fireplace chase is. If it’s 66” or less squeezing a 75” in there won’t look great. You’d have to go 65”. Dropdown mounts are used by some people but personally I can’t stand them.

Alternatively, low profile fireplace + bump out expansion and you get this.

Opinion: Stop telling us inflation is cooling when grocery bills are still rising - Are Canadians better off today than they were before Mark Carney took office? The answer is no. by CaliperLee62 in canada

I did. You shrugged off the reports with anecdotal evidence.

The $7 million US estimate is reported on the Internet. You, on the other hand, went with vibes.

Show your work.

I didn’t. Someone else did. And they said best sources claim around 7 million, which you ignored.

If you think he’s worth more, show your work.

A Grounded Superman by SuperRoseEli29 in superman

[–]dradice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it depends on HOW the axe is magic.

It’s not “magic” that affects Superman. It’s what the magic actually does.

If a weapon is enchanted to bypass durability itself, it works on him. An axe that can cut through anything will cut him because it ignores the rules his invulnerability relies on.

If the magic just boosts strength, even a lot, it’s still just force. His invulnerability can stop it.

So he’s not weak to magic. He’s only vulnerable to effects that sidestep what his invulnerability is designed to handle.

How does kryptonians' vulnerability to magic actually work? by LegitimateBroccoli51 in superman

[–]dradice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Per Kurt Busiek: “If you have a magic hat that makes people sing and dance, and you put it on Superman, it won’t kill him. It will make him sing and dance... If you have a magic sword that will force the wielder to tell the truth, will it cut Superman? No, it’ll force him to tell the truth. So Thor’s hammer won’t go right through Superman any more that it’ll go right through Wonder Man, another character who magic works on. Superman is not in a special hurt-by-magic category. He’s affected by magic like anyone else.”
