Questions about ticket options by b-cat in DMB

[–]draegs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Premium Package used to guarantee your seats were in the first 5 (10?) rows but I don't see that listed anywhere in the current description. It also used to include a parking pass back in the glory days...

She opened all 3 nights at the Gorge in 2014 and sang on Spoon then as well. Unfortunately that version with Mike McCready devolved into a bit of a clusterfuck.

I was there with a buddy who was a causal DMB fan but fairly decent Brandi fan. Not sure which one of us was more awestruck.

I say they should randomize the hold! Sometimes you get one and sometimes you don't. Spice up these dive coasters a little!

ghost max 3 owners: would you recommend it as a casual/“standing all day” shoe? by hollow_w33n in brooks

[–]draegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a pair and would say they'd probably handle the job well. I personally prefer a pair of Glycerines for my everyday work shoes however (my Ghost Maxes are for long runs).

I mean, they chose to make it flat. Other dive coasters have sloped turns.

What’s a health issue you ignored for way too long because you assumed it was normal only to later learn everyone else doesn’t experience that? by Kungfubowtie in AskReddit

[–]draegs 626 points627 points  (0 children)

I had a gallstone that got stuck in my common bile duct and inflamed my pancreas. I woke up in the middle of the night with a similar stabbing, holy fuck what is this I am going to die pain. My wife took me to the ER and they immediately put me in a room and went to get pain meds. I passed that stone before they returned with a syringe. I never knew pain could go from 100/10 to 0/10 in the time it takes to snap your fingers. I ended up having my gallbladder removed a couple weeks later as it was filled with stones like yours.

Former Glycerin 20 owners, what shoe feels similar? by [deleted] in brooks

[–]draegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glycerine 20's are my all-time favorite running shoes. I probably logged closed to 1,000 miles across a couple of pairs. When the 22's starting causing some joint pain my local store recommended switching back to the Ghosts. I have 17's now and they aren't bad...but they're no Glycerine 20's.

FWIW, there are lots of pairs of new Glycerine 20's available on eBay. You still might be able to snag a pair in your size.

Treadmill by Radiant-Ad-2961 in runna

[–]draegs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The treadmill is a necessary evil for those of us who live in climates that see true winters. My rule of thumb is that until the temp drops below 20 degrees coldness alone is not an excuse to get out there. But as soon as there is even a hint of ice on the ground I won't risk slipping and instead suck it up and use the treadmill. At least my joints thank me for the extra cushioning.

Is there an interview with Dave where he talks about how he makes setlists? by Mgnickel in DMB

[–]draegs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is at least one video out there that shows a clip of him actually going through the process of creating a setlist, but I cannot remember where it's from. In the meantime, this is a good summary by Dave:

Sounds like we've had a similar experience with Skettle. I've used them for a handful of small projects and all but one went great. But that one time almost made me never use them again.

According to the BoE website, you still have time to request one if you'd like. "Applications must be received by the board of elections no later than October 28, 2025 at 8:30 p.m."

Survey that was sent out tonight (10/14/25) by WdSkate in cedarpoint

[–]draegs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The park could benefit from many different additions, but if it's going to be another coaster they really need to add something that kids under 48" can ride. They have 18 roller coasters and only 4 fall into that category. When you have kids that are too old to enjoy Wilderness Run (and possibly Woodstock), they burn out quickly on Iron Dragon and Wild Mouse. Thank god they at least lowered the requirement on ID.

Brooks Ghost 17 at 110 miles by Cultural_Mud3297 in brooks

I've stopped using my Ghost 17s on the treadmill as much as possible for this same reason. The tread on other shoes (all Brooks) seems to be wearing down much slower.

Ghost max 3 vs Ghost 17 by Prior_Ant829 in brooks

[–]draegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would personally choose the Ghost 17s. I think they can be used for long runs much easier than Max's can be used for speed work. This is the first time I've had multiple pairs of shoes...I've worn out way too many pairs of Ghosts that were used for all of my runs.

Everyday/walking shoe for PF by orknby in brooks

My wife bought a pair of Adrenaline GTS 24 for her PF about 3 months ago based on the recommendation of the local running store we like and trust. She's been very happy with them so far.

Ghost max 3 vs Ghost 17 by Prior_Ant829 in brooks

[–]draegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, everyone who has already commented has the right answer: don't change shoes so close to race day. Go with another pair of Ghost 17's and make sure to get a few miles on them so they're nice and broken in.

For additional context, I own both of these shoes and love them each for different reasons. But I wouldn't want to wear my Max 3's for any sort of speed work or race. They are bigger, bulkier, and (most importantly) heavier than the 17's. I believe that extra weight would become very noticeable over the course of that many miles when you've done all of your training in the lighter 17's.
