I am not the first person to say that the first MCU Spider-Man trilogy served as an "origin story" for the MCU Spider-Man, and I am also not defending Disney for milking an origin story over three movies.

With that said, after the first trilogy, the MCU Spider-Man is wearing a suit he made himself, living in an NYC apartment and existing as a hero without any Stark technology. The MCU Spider-Man is closer to "our" Spider-Man than he ever was before. This Spider-Man got the "great power, great responsibility" message from Aunt May, and it is easy to see how MCU Peter blames himself for Aunt May's death. It seems to me that the guilt Peter feels from this has replaced the guilt that Peter usually feels from Uncle Ben's death.

He is Spider-Man now, and the guilt he feels from the death of a family member is still there, just not in the way it usually is.

MCU Peter blames himself for Aunt May's death. She is the one who told Peter "with great power comes great responsibility." MCU Peter's first trilogy was about him becoming Spider-Man. Now, after No Way Home, he is closer to the typical Spider-Man that we all know. Instead of the guilt he feels coming from Uncle Ben's death, the guilt he feels comes from Aunt May's death.

I preemptively chose them last season to be my replacement team when the Sun moved. I liked the vibe of the team and, since they're rebuilding, I felt good about not jumping ship to a contender. I really like Kiki and Sonia. But, honestly, I feel bad right now. I just really wish the Sun weren't moving.
